R56 TPMS "inactive"
TPMS "inactive"
So, the TPMS warning has gone off a few times recently. The first time I checked all the tires and they're fine. This is a 1 year old MCS.
When scrolling through the menu to reset the TPMS, I noticed that it listed the TPMS as "INACTIVE". The reset option was there - and it reset OK. Currently the light isn't on but it's come on three times in the last month. I haven't called the dealer yet - all the tires are fine and hold air pressure (at the correct level) and it wasn't particularly cold on the days in question.
My 1st service is due within the next month - but does anybody have an explanation for the "INACTIVE" message? Will this have thrown a code?
Cheers,
John.

If the TPMS indicator comes on in yellow, there is a sensor either not reading or going bad. When the indicator lights up in red, then there is a change in tire pressure. I've had the yellow indicator come on a couple of times recently. Took it to the dealer, and they said that mine didn't throw a code, but next time it comes on, call for an appointment so they can see what's wrong. Good luck!
