CVT Cylinder Head Source

I will be pulling the cylinder head from my wifes CVT and hopefully it will be straight and will only need gasket replacement. In preparation for a worst case scenario, however, I am looking for a source for a good cylinder head. A crack free, straight bare casting would be acceptable, or a rebuilt one ready to go.

I have googled and looked around, but everything I've seen is for an S.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You're better off posting in the 1st Generation MINI section... I assume she has a 1st Gen when you say CVT.

Good luck on your quest!

Thanks for pointing out my lack of specifics.

This is an '05 Coupe, non S with a Constinuously Variable Transmission(CVT)

Well, if this thread isn't going to be moved... I'll try to help with what limited knowledge I possess!

The fact of the matter is, you have a base Cooper with a CVT. Those aren't typically viewed as "race-desirable" vehicles, at least in the aftermarket. I don't think you will have luck finding a pre-made cylinder head for your Cooper CVT.

You're better off going to a custom machine shop local to you. You might be surprised at the price they will charge, especially if they specialize in motor internals.

I just don't think there is enough of a market for Justacooper CVT cylinder head.

Cylinder Head for a Cooper?

Is this what you are looking for? It is a performance head, around $3,200....

I think you'd be better off going to the shop, if you are just looking for a replacement. Does she need this super-strong cylinder head?
