Water in my tank

on sunday i filled my tank in ione, ca. and after leaving the station and driving up the hill to plymouth, my mini started to sputter and had very little power. i turned around and coasted back to the station and called the mini tow number. i was towed to the dealor in sacramento and waited until monday to hear the news. good news, the fuel pump failed and will be fixed under waranty. now the bad news today, they found water in the fuel system after not being able to start the car. all i had to do was authorize them to do a $2000 repair on my dime. well i talked to the manager and he told me to call my insurance and the station's ins, co. and "voila" the station's ins. co. has authorized the dealor to do the repair at their expence. needless to say, its been an interesting process.

At least it's going smoothly. I have a feeling the gas station will be changing suppliers.

Interesting. I wonder if using a product like HEET would have helped you.

I'm not an automotive engineer, but I do play one on TV...

wait... that was a lie. I know nothing about engineering or TV...

I did, however, have the dreaded "water in the fuel" thing happen to me with a previous car (non-MINI).

A new fuel filter, all new injectors and a good fuel system flush and you are good to go. No long term ill effects at all in my case.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program...
