Drivers cup holder?

I don't have my Mini yet. Every time I sit in the Mini (at the dealership) my right leg, while in the drivers seat hits the side of cup holder on that side. I hold my legs open wide.

Does anyone know if that cup holder can be unscrewed and removed without to much disruption to the center console?

When looking at the dealer, it looks like the one cup holder would come off with the removal of one screw from the bottom. That would be great but I was starting to get a little worried that might not be the case when I get the car. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

The cupholders are connected. If you remove both screws, you can take that piece out.

The cupholders are both a part of the center console plastic piece that goes around the shifter and handbrake.

I just tried sitting in mine. Unless you are a contorsionist, there is no way that cupholder can interfere with your right leg when you are driving and have your foot on the accelerator pedal.
