Completion date really means what?

Please help me clarify what the completion date (according to 1-866-ASK-MINI) really means. Does it mean that the Mini is built? Does it mean that the Mini is in port? Does it mean that the Mini will be ready to pick up at the dealer? If it means the Mini is only built, please share with me the typical
timetable for the rest of this process. Thanks!

i believe completed at the factory. it can take a few days to get to the port and stay up to 3 days at the port being loaded.

It means the day it is completed at the factory. Getting to the shipping dock may be 1-3 days, getting on a ship can be 1-7 days, getting across the pond is about 9 days (I think), getting through the distribution center is 1-5 days, getting to your dealer is 1-4 days, and finally your dealer will need 1 to 3 days to prep and have it ready for you. So, 14 to 28 days from completion.

yes - completed at the factory, although.. it CAN take longer than 1-3 days to leave the plant (mine took 4 and others have taken up to 4-5 days too) Also - I have noticed a few cars (not many) have been at port for up to 10 days.. than, some stay at the VDC for 2 + weeks!!! Frustrating.... read the current weeks and you will get a good handle on how things /order / time line have happened. (weeks 29, week 30 and week 32 are all pretty active with lots of info.)
