My car is AB/AB, with 17'' black wheels, blacked out trim, tints, etc.. The only thing I have left chrome is the door handles and the emblems, which are getting covered soon. I have never been pulled over for "equipment" issues but lots and lots of my friends with older Subarus, Nissans and Hondas have been. I think my MINI is very sporty looking but I don't think I would get pulled over just for its' aggressive look. The only 2 times I have been pulled over for speeding (tickets thrown out ), the officers both complimented my car, and one said "I can see how it would be easy speeding in that thing!"

Agreed. If I picture the vehicle behind me being an additional 3 feet farther away (trunk space that I lost on vehicle change) then they don't seem that close.

 

I know this is a late response but in actuality, I got pulled over a few months ago by a SC trooper.

He clocked me at 102 but because like I said, you've got 30 seconds to get out of a ticket, I was able to be polite, have everything ready and not insult his intelligence by giving him some BS excuse.

Point is, I ended up with a 69 in a 60 ticket.... a far cry from a 102. (I'm just glad he hadn't clocked me 15 minutes before that...

It's simple, you play, you pay. I wasn't pissed because I have no one to blame except me.
