R56 anybody order a 2009 MCS with SPORT PACKAGE?
My understanding (and I may be wrong) is that DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) is what's known as an electronic limited slip or brake torque limited slip. If the cars wheel speed sensors indicate one drive wheel is spinning faster than the other, it applies the brake to the spinning wheel to transfer power to the other side. In effect you get a limited slip differential action from an open differential. The trade-off is some power loss when it activates and increased brake pad wear. All in all these systems seem to work pretty well in place of mechanical limited slip differntials, even on track environments. I think VW uses this system on the GTI and Jetta GLI.
