Does the secret or hidden test menu exist?
I'm wondering if the 2nd generation MINIs have the secret "test" menu that exists in the 2002-2006 models.
That's the menu which you get to by holding down the odometer reset button while turning your ignition key and waiting for the log i-off/i-on to flash. You can then view things the battery voltage, various temperature sensors, production build date etc.
Does this exist in the 2nd gen models? The reason I was asking was if this was a cheap substitute for not buying a Scangauge II or other device to examine the battery voltage in real time.

Check this link...although it discusses the way to reset your service indicator, it explains the way to access the "hidden" menu. However, I don't think it will show you the voltage or the temps.
There was also this thread to show the vin/build date.
