TPMS message after resetting pressure help please

Picked up my new MINI a few days ago and when I got home I checked the tires, they all showed 42-43 psi. with a professional gauge and then rechecked with another gauge. (It seems alot of dealers do this for some reason). So I bled air from them and set them to 36 psi fronts and 34 psi rears). Of course I got the "Low Tire !" message in the display. So I read about it and did the "resetting" procedure as shown in the manual. It seemed OK since the warning indicators went out after a few miles. Everything is fine that day. Then the next morning I get the message again at startup. So I do the ressetting procedure again and at first it doesn't work. Then I pull over and do it again, this time the indicators go out. Ok seems good. Now the next morning again at startup the "Low Tire!" messgae is displayed. Anyone have any tips here ?? Thanks !!

The only thing I can think off is maybe your tire pressures are too low when its cold so you're getting maybe around 30 psi or less which is when my TPMS goes off as well. Recheck your tires when cold and not hot to see where it's at.

It sounds like you checked the tires when warm; when you got home. The pressure needs to be set with less then 1 mile driven or after driving letting sit for 4-6 hours. Ideally, if the car is garaged out of the sun, will give you the best idea of cold pressure.

FIXED.

Listen to this one ......
I had been using a $ 13.00 brass fittings top of the line tire pressure gauge that I got at Pep Boys and it was reading ten psi. too high !!!! In other words the needle started at 10 psi, not zero !!!! I've been using this for about five years !!!!!

So let's just say that the TPMS system works very well !!!

Maybe it was reading atmospheric pressure!
