MiniNova.. oh thank you for the pic's - that's MY car! LOVE IT! I went with PW/B and redwood leather too. I was told that the lounge leather is softer, and the seats are more padded. I have been looking for a photo of PW/B with the door open to show the interior of the Redwood leather .. nice!

Amazing! You will love your car, I think you made the right choice for picking a MINI and even better choice picking the color, and yeah the lounge leather is much much softer, very nice quality..
I'lltake some good quality pics this weekend if you want, but believe me, they look even better in real life!

Ohh I got the English oak too, great choice!

I have the Sport Seats in black cloth/checkers. So far so good. They keep me planted in the turns and don't heat up too much in the Hotlanta sun. Will take a 5 hour road trip to Florida this weekend, so I can update upon my return.

Good luck.

May I add ...if you do lot of driving, get the most comfortable seats you can afford. If you are getting run-flats, another reason to upgrade your seats. If you are accustomed to a lumbar support, stay with an upgrade that provides it. Good suggestions, to take your blankie the dealership, maybe find some NAMers that will give you an extended ride. I've done 22 hours non-stop with the lounge leather, switching drivers every 3 hours. I've had multiple back surgeries, and I found the lounge leather seats to be great. Whatever fits your needs, better to err on too much seat. Enjoy picking your options - its a fun part of the trip.

one thing you def. do not want to get cheap on is the seats, they are what makes or breaks the interior!! plus they are the only thing that sits (no pun intended) between you and the car!!!! You only live once get the LOUNGE LEATHER!!!!!

I have Pepper White MCS w\Black Punch leather and the seats are very comfortable. I sat in the cloth, leatherette and Punch leather- the decision was easy leather. I didn't consider Lounge leather because I felt that Punch is easier to clean and condition because the seat surface is flat not bolstered.

Yes. LOVE my lounge leather. The pin-stripping just makes the car interior.

I am 47 and have a herniated disc in my lower back and traveled 3000+ miles round trip from Florida to Minnesota and back in my '08 MCSa with leatherette seats and found it very comfortable and pain free driving very long distances at a time.

Since I bought Scrappy from the dealer lot I didn't have the option to get leather seats but I am very happy with the leatherette seats nonetheless.

But like others have already mentioned the leather seats are a very good investment along with getting lumbar support for the front seats.

Super Seating comfort in my MINI

Had gone to the dealer (Ferman MINI of Tampa Bay) when they had an extensive inventory of MINI’s to see the colors and sit in the seats. I was spoiled by my 20 year old LeBaron’s seats and have found no recent car to compare in comfort for me.

Did not see enough difference in the ‘firmness’ between any of the MINI interior seating, whether Leather Options, cloth or leatherette, so got the standard leatherette and modified it to suit my desire.

I ordered the Wet Okole Seat cover kit for the MINI and also bought enough four inch thick, ‘5 Lb.’ Memory Foam (like Tempur-Pedic)
to supplement the ½ inch padding included with Wet Okole.

I also added the Lumbar Support option from Wet Okole and raised the front of my seat rails about ½ inch to achieve the ‘rake’ I wanted.

Headrest Covers and bound cutouts were included by Wet Okole; they also have bound cutouts for the seatback release levers and the airbags as well.

I put the ‘squeeze bulb’s for the Lumbar atop the Euro Armrest, but they usually lay in the console below.

Seats

I currently have the Lounge Leather. I have drove for at least a week on each cloth, leather, and leatherette. Leatherette reminds me of a wet suit. Sticky and sweaty (I live it Texas) and definitely would not choose this option. Lounge Leather is very comfortable (in my current 07MC). For my 09 MCS I chose the leather/cloth option because there leather on all the wear areas (side of the seats) and the cloth is much cooler than full leather. My Subaru has 11 years with cloth seats (which never got dirty). Drivers side got a hole from wear getting into the car on the side of the backrest. The L/C option has leather in this area so my opinion is it's the best choice. You won't be sitting on the leather but it's in all the high wear areas of the front seats.

The JCW has a Recaro seat option for the European markets. The US isn't getting it due to the jumbo-sized posteriors of its citizenry.

One can always step up to an aftermarket installation of a Recaro driver seat which fits the Keiper (same company) seat height adjuster of the Mini.

This is the one to get and Terry Griffin is the man to buy it from:

http://g-werke.com/productpage.cfm?item=RNAsptsr_p

There are cheaper models to be found on his website.

Went with the cloth/leather black/red combo seats. They look great, but do not provided a tilt of the height adjustment. The side bolsters are also not as snug as previous sports cars (mazdaspeed 3, wrx, 911).

I avoided all of the full leather seats because many of them had an indentation in the seat within a year.

What adjustment are you looking for? They have all the standard ones.

The seats are one of the only things i have to complain about on my MCS. Coming from a BMW 335xi with sport package seats, these are a major letdown. If your looking for good sport seats that hold you in place these will be a big letdown. And they dont really breath that well on hot days.

But, i got my car off the lot, in the color i wanted with every option i really needed (Sport package,6 speed, LSD, Navigation, anthrecite headliner), so decided that giving up the nice leather was fine as i wouldnt have to wait months for my car to get here.

I must be one of the few that went with the Tuscan Beige leather. I think the lighter color goes well with my all Mellow Yellow exterior. I've also taken the car on a 1500 mile road trip, and both me and my wife think the seats are very comfortable.

The tilt/rake of the seat bottom. When the seat height is lowered using the adjustment handle nearest the door, the front and rear of the seat bottom stay at the same flat angle. On the R53 (and other vehicles), the seat bottom at the back of the seat will drop slightly lower than the front. I found this was instrumental in keeping the driver/passenger from sliding forward on the seat when decelerating.

Leatherette Sport Seats - they seem a little too firm to me, either I need a little more padding on my butt (5'2", 105 lbs.) or the seat (but I'm pretty happy with my butt the way it is so ...)

I think the cloth is a little softer but I wasn't sure how well it would hold up long-term. Leather is probably the best option if you're willing to pay the price.
