I just got a call from my MA that a spot for a 32 week build for a 2008 model has opened up and am now debating taking it or waiting for a 2009.

Pro's - cheaper than the 2009 (especially with the convenience package), I get the car sooner

Cons - not a 2009, not sure if they will introduce new features in the next couple of weeks, and no smartphone prep option, also heard that week 32 builds often have problems?

what do you guys think?

 

If you wait for an '09, it will be painful long wait. I waited an extra month and a half for my '09 JCW, but sometimes wish I had bought an '08 since I could have motored sooner. Keep in mind that the '08's have had good reviews. You won't go wrong ordering an '08. As for build week 32, I've never heard of any problems with that. Good luck!

Sounds identical to my situation. I decided to go for 2008. I find it absurd to say that build quality would suffer for the reasons I've read around the forums. On most cars, not only would you not know, but you would either not care or would even hope for the latest build possible. This is the danger of too much information... Does the entire QC go on holiday? Especially since that is a big week for JCW 09's, too.
