a few weeks ago i posted about poor mileage in my MCS manual (i was jesting that leaving the head light reduced my mileage). from my previous experience with my BMWs, this usually signaled a time to change the oil. my 530i would get 1-2mpg better after an oil change (which i did every 7500miles).

I order the filters while back and picked up 6 qts of Mobil 1 0-40. I used my top sider and it sucked out just a bit over 4qts. The oil level was about 1/2qt down.. (according to the dip stick, if I'm reading it correctly).

On my drive down from nocal to socal I averaged 36.xxxmpg as calculated by hand. This is a 4 mpg improvement from the previous trip.

From the posts of other members with MCS that had an oil analysis it seemed like the right time for the first oil change.
