My Mini S is two days old and I have a tire monitor warning. both of the indicators are lit up. The manual says take it in for service. Anyone? I knew this would happen as I live far from the dealership. (98 miles). I am not unhappy though. I know they will fix it.
Thanks
Thanks

Check your tire pressures. Fill them if they need it and re-initialize the flat tire monitor as indicated in the manual.
Will that work? I read in the manual if both indicators were lit up. The red one and the small orange one in the center that it was a malfunction that needed dealer attention. I will try it in the morning. Thanks.

It says that yellow and red indicates a flat tire. Later it says that yellow means a flat tire or a malfunction in the system.
The possibilities are:
1. You have a tire that has lost 30% of its pressure. Look for a flat tire. Check the air pressures. Pump it up and see if it loses pressure overnight.
2. Your system wasn't properly initialized. If it doesn't lose pressure overnight, this might be the case. Initialize it and drive the required distance for the light to go out.
3. There is a malfunction in the system. If the warning light doesn't go out after five miles, it may be a malfunction. Call the dealer.

Black...after re-initialize or re-setting....you have to drive it like Robin mentioned. Happened to me too....after re-initialized, I just sat in the car and let it idle and scratching my head but after I drove it about 1/2 mile, all the warning indicators went away.
Well:
All pressure was fine. Then, last tire I checked down to 20.... Then noticed HUGE SCREW through my two day old tire. HAHA. Denial is comfortable.
Anyway, Wal mart was opened. (only place) and they plugged it for $9.00 and told me how cool my new ride was. Where I live they do not see Mini's ever. The tire monitor system works amazingly well. Thanks Everyone. Sorry if I got a little hasty.
Happy 4th!

Good thing you found a place (Wal Mart) that is willing to plug a run flat tire, most will not. That saved you big bucks, the dealer would have told you to replace the tire...

Yes, I have read that on here. I have never been a huge fan of the what WM does to the local economies but, They had no problem with my tire and I was out of there in 30 minutes. They were actually great. Amazed me and I was afraid to take my "Infant Mini" there. All is well though.
Great car. Wow. So Fun!

I empathize. I had a tire monitor warning appear one morning, with 1100+ miles on the car. Although upon visual inspection no tire appeared to be low, upon checking the tire pressure the right rear tire showed 18 pounds. Filled it up and drove to a local independent tire store where they quickly found a screw imbedded. They put in an inside patch, not a plug, for $29.95, including re-balance. No apparent problems since then. Stuff happens!!
