R56 What Can be applied to Lease?
What Can be applied to Lease?
Hey Guys,
Im in the process of placing my order for my mini and was wondering.... can the JCW kit be residualized on a lease? I've heard two different answers from the dealer. One said that it has to be paid in cash, because it is considered an aftermarket accessorie and cant be applied to a lease. The other dealer is stating that as long as it is ordered that way from the factory, the whole thing can be residualized. Anybody have a definite answer? Thanks.
Also, I got a quote from the dealer on my lease... does this look about right?
MSRP: 28,350.00
Down Payment: 2100.00
Miles: 15K
Lease Payment: 24 Month: 499.56
36 Month: 460.29

I recently leased an 08 MCS...I visited the dealer (the closest one to me is 150 miles away!) and the quote on a $25,000 msrp with $2000 down was $338 a month...I thought that was a little high, so I decided to do a little research. On the internet I found a website called leasecompare dot com (I am not affiliated with these people in any way: just a consumer who had an excellent experience with their company, and want to pass it along.) They have a work sheet where you can enter in all your info and get an actual quote from several banks. Their quote was $25 bucks a month cheaper than the dealer. I called them, they got right back to me (unlike the dealer in Albany, NY, which seemed to be a black hole every time I called!! I think they only have one salesperson on the MINI floor!) The dealer, however, was not amused that I went with "outside" leasing; after I had a signed sales agreement, they tried to cancel the deal the day before delivery, because they claimed that "people from leasing companies buy the cars and then sell them in Canada". Then they offered me a similar lease rate, but hey, they did NOTHING

Then they offered me a similar lease rate, but hey, they did NOTHING to earn my business; the folks at ACS/leasecompare did everything and went above and beyond the call of duty to make this deal happen. Overall, it was a very stressful experience because of the dealer, but I would recommend these leasing folks a hundred times over.
IIRC, with MINI Financial Services, only factory installed options can be residualized in your lease. Dealer installed options can be 'rolled' into your lease BUT you will pay for them 100%. You'd be better off buying them outright as either way you'll be paying full cost including labor.
