R56 Your best sales pitch...
Have you seen the Italian Job? If not... do. While you're watching it, pay attention to the scene where Charlize Theron is driving the S around the warehouse. See that look on her face? Hear that laugh as she whips the car around?
That's me, every single time I get behind the wheel of my MINI. It can be you too. Maybe not as hot, or as blonde, but certainly as fun!

The whole experience of being interested in and obtaining one is the sales pitch, really. When you go to the dealership, visit the MINI website, talk to people on NAM, etc. you'll soon find out that Mini isn't a typical car brand. Mini owners are significantly more passionate about their cars than your average car owner.
The test drive is the kicker, though

I would agree with no pitch required IF you can get the keys in their hands.
My experience was exactly that...I wasn't really aware of the MINI brand..was trying to find a new car. Had tried to fit into the Pontiac Solstice, but at 6'3" my head was cocked to the side just sitting in it.
In frustration I picked up an Auto Trader magazine and there on the back cover was a car dealer selling a used MINI.
MINI..hmmm...googled MINI dealerships, went to the official website, played with the configurator and found that "wow..these are kick4ass"
Went to the dealership..was looking at the interiors, looking at options and the sales staff kept trying to shove keys in my hands.
I actually got irritated and finally to get them to stop, took a set of keys. Left the lot and took a left onto a twisty road (great dealership selection of location) and sincerely started laughing out loud as I drove.
Did everything in my power immediately afterwords to become an owner as quick as I could...what an amazing car.

The MA's always come with us, usually they take you on a standard route, which happens to come right by our house. When shopping for the first S, I took a different route down the freeway instead, I wanted to work out exactly how bad the ride was going to be, on the particularly nasty bit of freeway I commute on every day (ie 85).
The MAs seriously went with you? Maybe you looked a little shady...
On my '04 test drive, the "MA" (didn't know that term until I joined NAM) came with me for the first 10 minutes, but as soon as I was close to the dealer, he asked to get out. Whaaaat? Scared? Hehheheheh...Ok, well, it WAS close to the Autobahn.... When I came back a few years later for my '07 MCS, he refused to get in the car with me at all, just handed me the keys and said, "we have your info on file, see ya later."

"Yes, That is a $5,000 on top of MSRP, as you can see I only have 7 MINIs on my lot to sell....opps wait I have only six now... so the ones with the extra $5000 are my demos. The MINI is so hot here in S Florida, I had to put the extra money on them to discourage people from buy it, otherwise I will have no DEMOS or anything to show until mid August, I will be able to sell you a production number now, All my incoming inventory for the next 2 months is pre sold, Oh you like a Clubman...well then we will have to wait until end of September...2009?
sure with a price increase on the MSRP.
Last month I put 28 MINIs out the door 10 more than my average, is great time to be on a MINI right now.. Keep it MINI!

I know...it's great to be on the right side of this whole fuel economy thing going on. It's also great that MINI is so strong on this....and that's w/o even having the Cooper D!!!
Left brain - It's the one of the most powerful, good looking car that you can get for < 25K
- Gas mileage of atleast 28 mpg (city/ highway mix)
- One of the cars with an excellent resale value
- 3 years of full service
Right brain - It's a blast to drive, to look at. It's a lifestyle...a statement!
(I bought the car 8 months ago and I am loving it even more as every day goes)
Now get the car already!

CooperDawg,
I sold MINI's for over three years and ultimately bought one! It has never left my side since then. Even though I no longer work for "The Brand" she still resides in my driveway and continues to put a smile on my face and a song in my heart. We have climed many a mountain together, Mt. Evans, Pikes Peak, Deals Gap, a.k.a. "The Tail of The Dragon three times as well as numerous trips elsewhere. Through many modifications and tweaks she has morphed into an even more impressive and powerful force. Just be prepared to spend a lot of mad money because one of the most fun things of MINI ownership is the PERSONALIZATION process! Just make sure you get the color right...British Racing Green!!! Good luck in your quest

they were all advertising 30-40+ new MINI's inventory.

When do you think that MINI's supply might meet the demand again?

Mezspeed... as much as I'd like to take you up on the color suggestion, I must confess I will not be able to... I live in Athens, GA. Some of you may have heard of our beloved University of Georgia Bulldogs... the team colors are red and black... I must stay true to my school and pay homage to my dear Bulldogs.
When I finally get my MINI, it will be Red with Black top... WOOF!
BTW, what does "MA" stand for??? I know, I know... newbie question...

I believe you are referring to the lovely, wafting aroma in the College Station Road area... "eau de poo poo"... yep, that's from a sewage issue in that area.
I think they may have cured that now! There is TONS of fine dining in downtown Athens... and a bar or two...

The receptionist took a photocopy of my license, handed me the keys and said, "Have fun!". I did!
