Alright, I'm convinced. I don't need to wear out igniters. I'll reset my option to do things the old fashioned way.

I wish the daytime running lights were just the Xenons. I noticed when the DRL's are on it also turns on all the exterior lamps IE: the lower portion of the front fogs, front and rear Side marker lamps and licence plate lamps. It just doesn't activate the interior dash and mood lighting. Big deal. Just my opinion. I usually run lights when its cloudy/rainy or in shady roads.

I usually leave them on. Mainly out of habit because my old car had the auto lights (daytime running lamps during the day and then the headlights at night) so I never had to do a thing.

Unless it's rainy or cloudy or I'm on the highway, I don't turn the headlamps on during the day. I could leave them on with the automatic turnoff but had never gotten into the habit of that.

I noticed a big difference in people trying to smash me
now that i have been using the lights in the day.

I plan to get/make daylight running lights out of the
driving lights comming up this year.

I use the high beams now on friday afternoons.

Nothing but foo king maniacs on the road then.

I turn my xenons on once it starts to get dark. Daytime, never, unless it's raining or snowing alot.

Lookie what I found.

http://www.comagination.com/

I'm sure you all knew about it so its old to you
but new to me.

I have the blinking tail lights from gominigo.
But i'm upgrading the other cars too.
Handy.

Also, check out the headlight modulator.
Now, I'm not planning to do my headlights.

But now I'm thinking for the daylight running lights I want
(7.5 inch after market driving lights with yellow bulbs)
to put that headlight modulator on them.

I also have more data from my 'experiments'.
I should make my own thread for posting.
One day maybe I will.

% of cellphone talkers that roll through stop signs
RIGHT in front of me with lights off: 75%.

% of cellphone talkers that roll through stop signs
RIGHT in front of me with lights on: 30%

% of cellphone talkers that roll through stop signs
RIGHT in front of me with brights on: <10%.

By roll right out I mean I'm on the hwy, 55 mph,
and they just roll RIGHT OUT, chat chat chating away.
Like you are not even there.

I know this might sound like a novelty, but I only turn my own when I need to.

Yeah, I leave them on all the time...just so I am more visible or noticeable to people on the road under all conditions. I also turn my fogs on too for the same reason. I had programmed the DRLs but don't like that I can't turn on my fogs without turning the full lights on anyway.

I truly believe it helps in this highly congested area full of oblivious, multi-tasking and completely preoccupied drivers. I sure as hell know that in many conditions even where it is still day light outside that it helps me to notice other drivers.

Sure beats being one of those ***** that insist on driving around in the rain without headlights or those geniuses that are cruising along at night with no tail lights because they are still running their DRLs.

I don't know the answer but since your '05 MCS convertible is 1st Gen I am sure the answer can be found in that section.

You can also donwload whichever PDF owner's manual from motoringfile.com

and look for the MotoringFile Downloads partway down on the right side.

BTW I tried to clean up the posted information but copying from a PDF seems to add all of that stuff but the procedure for both are there.I put (--->) at the beginning to show you where they start.

I hope one of those helps.

Thank you.

It took me awhile to locate the information and then post it and then try to get it at least somewhat legible to read so it could be followed.Unfortunately it is kinda like one of those the information is hidden within the garbled message.
