Not comfortable

ANYone saying MINI is not a comfortable car does not know JACK
I drove 10 hours from heidelberg to catalonia..... spain , in a MINI S w sport suspension... non stop . I am the only R56 S here, I LOVE the looks and the stares, FAST FREDDIE is like a Male super model here ,and the trip was read...ALMOST as comfortable as my MBZ. The car is absolutely even more wonderful here in spain with the tight nooks and crannies,,,,,its just so european. Its true however 6ft tall peeps cant sleep in a MINI. ugh, I slept on the BEACH the first night...
PS these darn euro keybords are very hard to use. Peace NAM until I return home

+1. I'm 5'8, weight proportionate , but my hubby is 6'8", 260 lbs. We take the MINI everywhere together, and even with our daughter in the back, we never feel cramped. (She does have to sit behind me, however, not him.) We just took our first road trip, and are gearing up for a major trip from Dallas to Colorado next month.

We get funny looks from folks who see us all piling out of this "tiny" car, but we know it's so much bigger inside than it looks on the outside.

I'm 6' 230lb burly guy. I fit fine, no problem with leg room or head room. . .except when I put on a helmet. I have to shift my body slightly to the right to put my head in the sunroof area.

My son and I drove from South Texas to Orlando, Florida in May. Two days to drive to Florida. Stayed in Florida two days, and then two days to drive back to Texas. We took turns driving. I am 5'6" and he is 6'. Was a great trip. In fact, on the way back I was tempted to drive the whole route in one day, without an overnight stop . (But i didn't)
The MINI is very comfortable.

Two weeks ago this evening I drove my 2007 MCS from Southern NJ to Montreal for the Canadian GP. I am not small, 5'11" 250 and my friend is 6'5" 270. We each had plenty of room, plenty of luggage, drove with the air conditioning on the whole way, drove at "some miles an hour" in total comfort and averaged 32 miles per gallon for the entire trip.

Recently I drove from South Florida to Minnesota which is 2200+ miles and 30 hours straight nonstop (gas and food only).....both ways!!

I just couldn't stop driving my MCSa as I just loved the comfort and control the entire way there and back.

Heck if Florida didn't end at water and Minnesota at the Canadian border I might still be driving.

matty,
it's true. They are bad seats. You sit on them instead of in them.

Agree on those seats, but all brands that I have sat in lately (past few years) are similar.

I just added four inch layer of 5 lb. T-Foam (Memory Foam, like Swedish Temper-Pedic mattress) beneath Wet Okole seat covers, what a difference.

Drove mine from Los Angeles to Colorado Springs. Totally comfortable. Enjoyed zooming through Las Vegas and the canyons in Utah. On top of Independence Pass in Colorado, gorgeous view, on top of Pikes Peak, CO (14k ft) gas mileage dropped to 9.....but still totally awesome!

Yes, long distance, the Mini is a comfy traveler companion, for you and 1 other person. Can fit 4, but the people in the back must have no legs. :-)
