After-Market cruise control?

Has anyone added an after-market cruise control to their Mini? Mine does not have it and I suspect it would be impossible to add the factory cruise control or at least very expensive. I have another vehicle with cruise and I almost never use it, but with the Mini, I find myself trying to go 65 or 70 on the interstate and looking down to see that I'm going 80.

I think it's a rip off that MINI makes you opt for the multi-function steering wheel to get cruise, a feature that's common now on cars at half the price. That said I'd be pretty sure that all the functionality of the cruise control is there on all cars, your's is just missing the "switches." Probably the cheapest way to remedy that would be to find a MFSW at a boneyard or cough up and buy a new one.

Yes, I agree. I'm pretty sure that the wiring is already there, but I would probably have to buy the multi-function steering wheel to have the dealer do it and I'm pretty sure that it would cost me 500 bucks. That's why I thought of after-market cruise, independent of the computer. That may not be doable but if it is, it would be a much cheaper alternative.

There is a link posted somewhere here.
I can't do it, I try to put in the VIN on
realoem and it says not real VIN.
www.realoem.com
for the part number.

You can get the part for about $150,
and then have the dealer program it.

Which no doubt is like $200-300.
