Should I ignore my 1 year anniversary?
I email my dealership and no response. Should I ignore my 1 year anniversary on my purchase and just go by the OBC which says I don't need any service yet. Is there something that says I have to take it in before my year year of ownership. For me, its a long way to go for an oil change. But I don't wan't any trouble with my warranty. Thanks
The service reps say either when it's due or one year from last service. If you haven't had a service on it in the past year, make an appointment. It should fall under your maintenance schedule.
+1 Seems like all the OBCs are off on the countdown. It's not a biggie (2nd checkup is more comprehensive) but they'll change the oil and inspect things and I, too, like to keep up-to-date w/ warranty work. It has come in handy, in my case.
Like you, my 1 yr passed and my OBC said I still had some miles to go before maintenance. But, I scheduled a maintenance appt for free oil change, which they did, and they reported back some basic info such as tire and brake wear. That is all I expected. Next maintanence will be when my OBC says maintenance is due (about 3K miles now for me), which I expect will be a more comprehensive service.
So, no, don't ignore your 1 yr anniversary - go in for your free oil change and simple checkup. It's free - aside from the visit hassle.
