New Guy Question/clear bra price

I am picking up my 08 MCS DS/CB on friday. I am considering having the dealer do the clear bra. They quoted me 795 for half bonet with mirror caps and 1495 for full bonet with mirror caps. Is this price in line?

That is way high even for a dealer quote. My dealer quoted $800 for full frontal coverage. My MA told me who the dealer uses and I went to them directly and they charged $500 for the full frontal 3M coverage. Looks great.

Paid $400.00 for 30" bonnet, mirror caps, front fender, fog lights, lights and door guard but I did not go through the dealer. The company I went to installed Llumar which is guaranteed for life. They did a great job. By the way, my dealer wanted $1200.00 for a full bonnet and that is ridiculous!!

paid 900 for full hood, mirrors, bumper, fog light and head lights at a tint place that got good reviews from another NAM member who had it done at the same place.

I think I might as well... though I just hope no dings occur on the trip to whoever does it...

Century wants 799$ for the front half and 120$ for the bumper protection under the boot (I wanted the black strip, but apparently they're only doing the clear film now).

For almost $1,500 I got full bonnet, mirrors, and full doors from the dealer. If you ask around you can find out who does the clear bra for the dealer and cut out the middleman. However, the advantage of going to the dealer is that if there is a problem, the dealer has to make it right. I had to take the car back after a month to have the clear bra touched up and the dealer gave me a loaner car for the day. Schhhweet.

$895 and done before we brought Molly home. Definitely worth every cent and peace of mind to "boot".

Dealer here charges $795 for the 3M full frontal - doesn't go much past the scoop up the bonnet. I took it directly to the guy who does it for the dealer and got it for a little less. I think it's market dependant for the most part, but the installer is the biggest part of the cost, and that's what you also want to make sure you have the best of.

Mine was under $800 for full frontal coverage (everything facing forward including roof and pillars), the boot ledge and bumper and windows tinited. Dealer wanted $600 for just the bumper, bonnet and mirrors and the coverage was minimal. Find the right installer and you can likely work a better deal. I have a full warranty for 3 years, any issues it goes back to be recovered.

I got a quote of $600 for Xpel on half the hood, full front bumper, and mirrors. Dealer wants $985 for the equivalent Invisishield treatment.

I paid $549 for bonnet (not full), scoop, mirrors, bumper and headlights...and do I ever regret doing it now. Horrible install. While you don't have to pay over $1k for a professional and correct install, you DO have to make sure the installer can be trusted!

Some brands offer better designed patterns that fit the car better and offer better coverage (less gaps). Some films don't hold up as well as others (I did not know that over time some brands film will shrink). There are different warranties and different installers will sometimes offer their own lifetime warranty in addition.

I know for a fact that if you can find an actual and trusted Proform installer in your area...go with them. If not, ask a lot of questions and definitely ask to look at their work or cars they are currently working on.

Otherwise you'll end up with razor cuts in your paint and a poorly installed (multiple times) clear bra!
