Bluetooth Integration

July 1st in California, handsfree mobile phones will be required for drivers....
Has anyone looked into options on getting aftermarket or OEM bluetooth working in the MINI?
I'm a bit surprised how difficult the aftermarket options is looking to be compared to BMW TCU installation....

Isn't there an aftermarket product called Parrot? A lot of users are liking this more than OEM

I've looked into this in the past. I've tried using the Bluetooth in the Garmin GPS', but I'd have to say the quality is quite poor. I recently read a great review of a new Motorola product (motorokr). Looked into this also, but it looks like it doesn't support Blackberry's for some reason. Here's a link:

I have the factory bluetooth option in my MCS, its not bad I like it much better than parrot units I've used, but personally I'd still rather simply use a good noise canceling bluetooth head set, no matter how it shakes out it always sounds better, you don't have to worry about cabin noise or passengers hearing your convo., and most importantly you dont have to end a call when you want to move from the car.

Using the Jabra SP5050 and quite happy with it - it clips on the visor so the installation is about as easy as it gets :-)

But after MCEnvy brought up the new motorokr - I'm looking at it and at least from the features perspective like it very much - maybe will give it a try (and apparently it does work with blackberries)

We handle the Dension iPod integration unit that works for Mini, and the new Bluetooth Adapter for it is absolutely the best thing we have ever tested. The BT unit will soon be available for Mini.....stay tuned.
