$2k. Nothing is cheap.

I was in a Ford Maverick when a deer came thru the windshield.
The deer died, but was tasty. The Maverick ended up on its side. The tow truck helped us upright the car. We drove it home, deer tied to the roof. Memories.

Ah, memories. My first car was a 1974 Ford Maverick in Avocado Green with White Grabber stripes and a 302.

Nice! 1973 Ford Maverick here with a 302 bored .30 over and a 650 CFM Holly on it.

That car drank gas like nothing else I've ever driven. I could literally see the fuel gage shake when I punched the gas.

Of course being 17 and all..I never did that.

Yeah, 12 miles to the gallon if I was lucky. You just had to appreciate the thunder with engine at full throtle.

Heh, my father would always take trips down to Charleston and back when he was doing work for the newspaper down there. One night he hit a deer while in his Mustang. Got out, tied it to the back of the car, and drove on home. He said that if he had to pay for the repairs, he wasn't going to pay for the food.

Gotta admit, it was indeed yummy.

The adjustor from State Farm just came by and estimated the damage at $1,640. Based on past experiences with State Farm, they tend to be on the mark. This is our third time dealing with State Farm on a claim, so I'm expecting the best.

BTW, our last two claims were a few years ago and were both due to reckless driving by uninsured motorists. State Farm took care of our car (same one both times) for 11k in repairs. The only downside was we were out our deductible on both. We sued and got default judgements against both drivers, but they never paid. Like getting blood from a stone.
