How fast have you gone?

Just an informal poll as to the highest speed you have had you MINI up to. Did it scare you? Anything that you noticed? I am not so much afraid of the speed, but the consequences of getting caught. I've had mine up to 95 but chickened out when I saw the white Crown Vic ahead.

Turned out to be a "seasoned citizen"

135 according to the GPS on the 9500i

I have the 8500x50 in the e30 and love it, then got the 9500 for the MINI.. After having one idk how I survived so long without one..

The best part is, my first ticket wasn't even for speeding... Stupid california Stops..

Wow not bad. You must have done a lot on the car. How does the speed feel in the mini?
In the audi its all so quiet and you really don't "feel" the speed

My mod list is in my sig. Car felt fine, firmly planted. It could use a bit more downforce, but I don't have a lot of reason to be maintaining those speeds for extended periods of time.

I feel so inadequate compared to you folk...

90 mph, on the highway the day I bought Viola. I'd never gone that fast in a car before or since and I was just on the east side of the Cascades, coming down into the Columbia Valley. I was just motoring along, having a good time with the tunes cranked up, and then I saw the bridge up ahead. Usually there's a strong crosswind on that bridge, so I glanced at the speedo and nearly had a panic attack. I took my foot off the gas and slowed it down to 60 just before I got out onto the bridge. I was so glad that there was very little crosswind that day.

Mini only had 200 miles on it so not quite broken in yet

01 vette top down 172 as i hit the fuel shutoff, still felt rock solid allthough I was like sucked into the seat from the wind

90 5.0 Foxbody stang revlimiter at 155ish, numbering ended at 140 so i had to guestimate was shaky after 135-140

Adequacy doesn't come with speed. Top speed means nothing in the grand scheme of things. There are cars out there that will do 200 MPH, guess what, I pass them on the track...

In GERMANY, on the autobahn, where it is LEGAL to drive such speeds... I had a 300ZX up to 165 mph. I also rode in a 7-series Bimmer going very nearly 200 mph. Didn't much care for that.

I've also been in an F-16 pulling 9 G's... that's about 1250 MPH. Again... this was LEGAL.

I think I may have gone 70 once or twice on the highways....when did people start normally going 75-80 mpg (or more) on the urban highways?? That's nuts!!

I tend to not speed and have my MINI-fun at posted speed limits, thanks, and I'm very glad to have a car that I can actually do that in.
