AstroBlack vs. PepperWhite

Hey guys

Don't shoot at me but I really need advice of some other MINI addicts....

Last week I ordered a new Mini Cooper S. I ordered it in Astro Black with white roof and these white viper-style stripes on. In fact, I've never seen this combination in real life, so I don't know if it is looking good.

Now my dilemma: Over the weekend I saw a Pepper White with black viper stripes and it looked absolutetly fantastic to me. Now I am thinking about changing my order as long as i can.

So which combination do you prefer? For information I'll get the 17" flame spokes and the lounge leather in black.

by the way: which colour is looking worse when the car is dirty/dusty?

thanks....

Astroblack with the viper stripes looks sweeeet, I've seen them in person and I've seen some posted here, just do a search for astroblack and check other peoples galleries. Honestly, it's a matter of personal opinion. Astroblack does get dirty and show dust, but to me it looks 100% better than pepper white when clean. Pepper white to me always looks like a dirty white, even when it's clean. But that is just my opinion.

I 2nd that

Astro Black of course. That's what I ordered, but without the stripes. I live in Vegas (population 2 mill +) and have only seen two. I have seen a lot of Pepper White and Dark Gray Metallic. Choose what your hear desires, but I would go with AB.

I don't know--Pepper White just seems...white. Off-white, actually. I'm not a black car person, but the Astro Black has an intriguing change of colors, depending on the light. I haven't seen it with a white roof, though--only AB/AB, with a sunroof. You could still get the stripes, though, even if they don't come as part of a package--just order them from the dealer or (better), buy after-market stripes, which can be made to your own design.

I think Astro Black would look worse when dirty, just like with a "regular" black car.

P.S. Sorry PW people--that's just my opinion. Personally, I like Chile Red myself.

The ASTRO, because you pay 500 dollars and get Multiple colors out of the same car. That and its sweeeet lookin. I like the white too, but when seen side by side I went black.
Te downside is He is hard to keep clean, I carry a california duster in my trunk!

Undecided on whether to have a Pepper White or Astro Black car, heh? The solution is relatively simple. Once it comes in-you ordered Atro Black with white stripes, right?-have one half painted Pepper White with black stripes. You'll have the best of both worlds!

Astro Black is the way to go. It does get dirty but its gorgeous when its clean. And it changes colour.

Go with what you ordered AB/W
Sure black shows a little more dust but when clean it looks great!!
I've owned many black cars in the past and I just love the way they looked.

In fact my first color choice was AB/AB then DS/DS but I needed an automatic and the dealer didn't have one in stock like that so I ended up with CR/CR.

Astro Black is a luscious color with depth to it. And the white roof and stripes will nicely contrast with that. Pepper White is a soft creamy color. Are you thinking black or PW roof for that one? A black car might show dust sooner, but a lighter color seems to look dirtier more quickly.

If I had to choose between the two I'd go with AB/W.

I actually almost bought a white one. Then I saw the black.....

Also, The white one had the lounge leather in it. Now that I have the leatherette I am so glad I saved that money. I like the look and feel of the leatherette so much more. Every time I get into my car I think that. Just my 2 cents. Sorry to offend anyone with lounge.

I'm ordering soon (next week or so) and I'm ordering PW/B with black viper stripes on the bonnet, and white viper stripes on the roof. It looks pretty cool.

I'd go PW, but I'm in the minority. That's also the reason I'd go for it, however. Too many black cars on the road already for my tastes.

I think the Astro Black is kind of cool, and I especially love the contrast of the shiny chrome against the black. The only issue for me is that black on a car as small as the MINI makes me feel a bit uneasy. I live in the Bay Area in California and driving is a challenge due to the multitude of motorists (many of whom drive badly). I want to ensure that the colossal SUV's see me and black is much less visible. I considered Dark Silver because it also looks good with the chrome, but ended up with PW/PW. I am soooooooo glad I did. Everyday I marvel at how sporty yet elegant my Cooper S looks. I added a carbon fiber hood scoop for a bit of extra contrast, some aftermarket wheels, and stripes on the rear.

In the end however, finally having a MINI (in any color) is enough to make me smile. So whatever color you choose, be happy knowing that you own a freakin awesome car!

Love AB. I was about to order Dark Silver, then saw AB in the showroom.

That was all I needed. It's a stunning color, enough metallic but good, subtle deep color. See my gallery for more.

Of the two, I would go PW. That was my first choice but my other car is white and my wife said enough white. I live on a dirt road and white hides dirt and dust more than you would think.

Here's my story..I had to order one off the lot if I wanted one because I had already sold my only car and needed a new one. The only one that had the things I wanted was an Astro Black one with a white roof. I was bummed because I wanted a COLOR (blue/red/yellow) not black. But at the same time, I didnt have a choice because thats the only one they had and I needed it now. Also, the other dealerships in my area were marking up their prices.

So I went with it, and added white sports stripes and a checkerboard mirror just to make it POP. Pretty much I didnt want to blend in wiht the other cars on the road, I wanted to stand out.

Now, 2 and a half weeks later, Im in LOVE with my car and Im so glad I didnt get any of the other colors.

It's soooooo cool how it looks blue and its even cooler how AWESOME and classy it looks when cleaned.

Also, get it now before they stop making them in 2009!!!!! Then you will have a unique car that no more people can get!

I had trouble deciding between AB/PW. I finally decided on PW and I don't regret it at all. I love my PW Mini!

Pepper white! Much easier to keep clean. Much easier to repair if you are un-lucky and need paint damage repaired. Both look awesome if clean.
