looking to purchase an 08 or 09 S, i have been reading and looking, is a silver roof available with black bottom, is this a custom paint item or what thanks bernie

 

Silver roof is only available on the Clubman series, not on the standard Cooper or Cooper S. If you can't do it in the Configurator, it's not available that way from the factory (at least according to my MA, and others on this forum).

 

Silver roofs were available for coupes a few years back but, while I wouldn't rule it out completely for '09, we've heard nothing so availability from the factory seems unlikely. That said, there is plenty of precedent for silver-roofed MINIs so you could have it custom painted or install silver vinyl as some have done. Go for it!!!!
