R56 How long does each stage take?
How long does each stage take?
So it looks like my new pepper white MCS just went from in production to the about to ship stage. about how long does each additional stage take. is hoping for the first week in june a bad idea?? im in ohio if that helps
See my sig for my experience. It takes WAY longer than you'd hope. The east coast ships seem to leave more often than west coast.
Also, hop into the thread for your Production Week under the 1st gear forum. Lots of good info there.

Hi Fellow Ohioian!!! We are going to complete our order at the dealer tomorrow!! They said probably by the end of June, Can't wait!! Did your dealer give you an estimate at all as far as a date?? Where did you order from?? Keep us updated!!!
Ordered 4/3/08 -- Born 4/10/08 -- Loaded on Isolde 4/14 -- Thru Panama Canal 4/28 -- 5/6 Arrived at Port Hueneme/VDC.
I'm posting her timeline because I think she's kept better track than me. You should go check out General MINI talk>First Gear. A lot of people with current orders have threads going there.
I'd guess the boat ride shouldn't be as long as the 12 days it took for Isolde to get to the Atlantic end of the canal. The shipping company has a weekly schedule from Oxford to the east coast. So if you sit at the port 3.5 days +~10 days at sea, it's probably reasonable to assume your MINI might make it to the U.S. within two weeks. From then on, I don't know. Have fun!

You'll find lots of variations in delivery times once your MINI is built. Mine took 5 days to get on a ship and sail, another 8-9 days to get to the delivery port (NY), and then another 8 days delivery center prep and delivery to the dealer (also NY). I ordered on 02/15 and had my Clubman on 03/18.
I ordered my new MINI on 3/22 and it was completed on 4/10.
It waited about 9 days at port before my MINI was loaded onto a ship. It arrived at port a day or two before the Courage set sail but wound up on the Integrity.
My MINI arrived at the Spartansburg, SC VDC on Monday and according to my MA was loaded onto a truck yesterday. It was supposed to hit the road today or tomorrow once the truck was full. The Owner's Lounge shows an estimated delivery date of 5/10. I'm hoping to take delivery on Monday or Tuesday.
All that being said, the time to complete each stage of the process seems to have the potential vary widely judging from the posts of other here on NAM.

Ordered 04/01, In production 04/06, Production complete (Born on) 04/11, Set at port awaiting ship 8 days, Boarded the Integrity 04/19,Arrived in Charleston, SC port 05/03, Arrived at VDC 05/06, Scheduled to ship to dealer 05/10, Will be at dealer 05/11, Dealer prep 05/12, Bring Blackjack home 05/13. Six weeks total.
I ordered Pru on 3.8.2008 and picked it up on 4.16.2008 - 5 weeks and 4 days. The wait is VERY long but the boards will help you though it. Keep in mind the OL isn't always up to date, but still fun to check.
Good luck.
Good luck.
OK, so mine missed a ship by a day or two and the next west-coast bound ship didn't leave for two more weeks. I guess I should have moved to the east coast first - that saves about two weeks!
Seriously, my MA told me two months and I think that's going to be about right. East coast is two less weeks, and if the timing is right (no waiting for a ship) it could save another week or so. So all in all about 5-6 weeks east coast I would say.
Good luck waiting!
I ordered mine on 3/15 and it arrived at the dealer on 4/16 with a 4/18 delivery. I think it also depends on where the pre-spec dealer car is in the production cycle. The owner's Lounge and MINI USA phone lines are always behine. I was driving mine when it was still listed as "In Transit"
It's an agonizing wait. Especially when you are driving something you hate. In my case, a barrowed 1995 Isuzu Amigo with 130,000 miles. Truly a rolling, gas powered turd

It seems to take forever!
I have the dates for Lucy below. She was "stuck" at the VDC for 11 days, I was having a mild heart attack knowing she was only 90 minutes away and I couldn't have her. Turns out, she was one of the last cars processed.
I checked the OL every day. NAM really helped me get through it. Take the time to learn all you can about your new baby, it ended up getting me in the drivers seat faster because my MA didn't have to go through everything with me.
Good luck!
