Sport Button

I am so mad. I brought my car in for service and they said that they would need to keep it for it needed a thermostat. I have a regular cooper (non s). so, they gave me a loaner which happens to be a cooper (non s) as well. so i thought, hey..basically same car but without all my fancy options. well, while driving home, i discovered it has a sport button. omg..it's unbelievable what a difference it makes....I am so pissed that i do not have a sport button on mine.

How or why doesn't my car have a sport button?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

If I can't get one, how do I make my car drive like it has one.

I just looked at your pic below. Yeah, your sport button is empty. Weird. Get the dealer to fix it.

How early 07 do you have. Could they have added the sport button late in the production?

That is one of the stranger things I've seen. Maybe it's still a button, they just put the wrong cover on it?

Or was yours originally purchased in another country? The sport button isn't standard on the Cooper everywhere (it's optional here in Canada, for example).

I bought it on Feb 17th, 2007. The first day they had them at the dealer.

All R56 minis in US from day one have the sport button. looks like that Mini was intended for some other market. Your dealer should be able to retrofit it. If not demand another car. you paid for it.

I should have knewed better than be so difinitive in my statement. We are talking Mini here. They may tell you it's all part of Mini's "uniqueness" and try to charge you extra for having a rare model.

True!! Sport button rocks! Completely changes the experience of driving the auto tranny car. What does it do in a manual?

Tightens the steering and uses a different throttle map. It does the same thing on an auto, but also shifts at higher rpms.

When you go to pick it up, check to see if they took the sport button out and then accuse them of removing the sport button! Demand the correct car. This can't be yours. Yours had a sport button!

Geez, another MCS owner taking shots at us MC owners. "Slower" would be a better term. My MC, others in this thread, and the non-s loaner mentioned in the original post do have the button.
