In the UK the sport button is standard on the Cooper & Cooper S but optional on the ONE. I'm wondering if you somehow got the standard buttons for a ONE!

If the button IS actually there but the button top is plain, you would know when you push the button because the on board computer display will display "SPORT" for a few seconds after you activate it.

Mine doesn't - I think only 2008 models display 'sport' on the obc.

Speaking of the sport button...

I also just turned mine in for the 1 year checkup and got a loaner (I want them to have the car overnight because there's a rattle on cold mornings, and in FL that's a pretty "light" cold... anyway, just to explain the loaner for little more than an oil change). It seems the loaner (also an 07) was around 3200 rpms the whole way home with the sport button on. Mine is usually around 4000rpms, and seems a lot more rough when shifting. It's an auto. Where do most people find their sport RPMs sit when on the highway at around 65-70mph?

The auto tranny will not shift to 6th gear while the sport button is on.I just kick it over to manual mode and put it in 6th on the interstate.

Mine's an 07 (Week 34), and it displays "SPORT" on the OBC when I hit the button.

But why would two 07 cooper Ss with the auto, both in sport mode, be at 2 different RPMs for the same speed? I guess I am wondering if there is a problem with the tranny, the sport mode programming, or some other option I haven't considered...

I just emailed Mini USA.

"I bought an 07 cooper the first day they were available last year. I recently brought it in for service and was given a loaner. The loaner is also a cooper (non s) and it has a sport button. I told a friend of mine how cool the sport button was and he said all 07's should have a sport button in the US. Is this true? and did I get a mini meant for someplace else? I bought it in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I really want the sport button and if it's true that all of them should have one, I feel like Mini should retro fit my car to include what it should have had all along. Please help. I am feeling violated as a customer.

Please call me at *********
My car is currently at Brian Harris Mini Cooper in Baton Rouge
(800) 501-9672
black mini cooper non s
no sport button!!!

Thanks,

D Chautin"

I want to know what happens.. May be a good idea to ask for the missing button or what happen to it, I know some of the 07 delivered after sep last year most of them had the SPORT display, some had the different door sills and the Gong control...I see the changes fro 09 already happening, like the MFSW controls going silver...Nothing in MINI changes all at once Bang! all is done, is a pipeline style build up plant so one MINI can start getting new parts while the one in front does not.

Going to your dealer "demanding" a new MINI or "demanding" anything will just make things happen slower, once you sign a contract you are a driver. Sometimes kills me when I read here people asking how to do this or that, things that should been explain by the MA... I takes a good 45 minutes for a good delivery, where one can show "most" of the controls on a new MINI.

Other than me smarty LynnEl with the feminine name.

Are you constantly online? 14,085 in 14 months.... 1006 post per month. 33 post per day.. OMG..you need a life. do me a favor and don't respond to my stuff..you are a condescending jackass and are one of the reasons I do not enjoy posting and discussing other issues here. You should be limited to one post per day.

I am in no mood for you!

Oh no!! A feminine name! How horrible. Good thing I am driving a "chick car" then, I suppose. I am sure your life is incredibly full since you couldn't be bothered with finding out what your car is supposed to have on it before you bought it.

Because they were each in a different gear.
