Comment on my possible options? 2008 MCS

2008 MCS

Chili Red/Black
White Turn Signals
Cold Weather
Convenience Pkg
Premium Pkg
Sport Suspension
DSC
16" S-Winders
Leather Lounge Black Seats
Dark Grey Color Line
Brushed Alloy Dash
SIRIUS

I originally was going to skip the turbo, but thought, live a little...

I have chrome line on my current one, but seems like less is in chrome in the new model.

The only performance option you left out was the LSD. That would round out your price to an almost even thirty.

I agree - add the LSD. It's a reasonable option for $500.

I'd skip the Sport Suspension, DSC, and special 16" wheels. Just get the 16" bridge spoke wheels - they are a $0 option and look great. If you really want other wheels, get 16s or 17s aftermarket w/ a decent tire (17s have more tire choices).

The SIRIUS extra is expensive at $1000 - at least to me it is - but it's also a lifetime subscription. That's a personal choice I suppose. For that money you could get a lot of other stuff like an iPod touch w/ lots of music, iPod adapter, etc.

Anyway - you should also bargain really hard. I got my dealer to throw in about $600 of extras - some people do better than I, and get about that plus $1000 off MSRP.

Regards,

Jeff

Anthracite headliner for the dark grey colorline.
Rear fog lights to fill out the bank of toggle switches and the blank spots on the rear.

+1 on LSD.

Agreed on the rear fog lights. It's a non decision for $100.

I have to differ with our friend Robin on the Anthracite headliner. It find it way too dark for my taste but perhaps not yours? See if your dealer has one car w/ it on the lot for you to see. Or post on NAM and someone can send you a photo of theirs.

Since you are getting leather - consider the tuscan beige - it would look very sharp with the red exterior. If you go that route, consider the matching wheel/shifter.

Anthracite Headliner. Our current MCS has it and while I wouldn't have thought it of any value, I now see things differently. It eats up enough light that I no longer have to use sunglasses. My aging eyes are just not blasted by the light on bright sunny days.

Interesting. I wouldn't have thought of it in that way. At least this "pair of sunglasses" won't get lost, sat-on, scratched, or dirty.

Yea, I've never understood the desire for bright shiny interiors. That just makes for more glare and reflections in the windows. You should be looking out of the car while driving, not gazing at the interior.

Lots of folks are giving the exterior a blackout. I wish someone made a blackout for the interior. I'd like to black out some of the shiny bezels on the vents and elsewhere. I've got one that reflects in the window right where the side mirror is. Who designed that?
