What to do?

My wife has a 07 MCS 6-speed currently with 6k miles on it.

it's loaded, except moonroof, rear parking assist, and rear fogs.

everything else is there, however, my wife wants the panaramic moonroof and rear parking assist.

how much can i sell it privately?

or should we just trade it in?

or does anyone want to trade?

it's dark silver with a white top.

help?

I didn't configure my Mini but the only option I don't like is the moon roof. Private sales will net the most money. Although I wished I didn't have a moon roof I still love my Mini.

If you paid MSRP you will lose money. Your best deal is to keep it or sell it to an individual. The advantage to trading it is that you only pay tax on the difference. New car, less trade in = taxable

That depends on the state of course. Your statement is not true in Virginia.

already tried talking her out of it. no luck.

think $24 - $25 is reasonable?

it's got leather, but has the standard checkered dashboard and does not have the anthracite headliner.

i saw that mini offers the canvas top, but she wants the panaramic.

Lots of reasons. It adds 60 lbs to the top of the car, raising the center of gravity. Turns the car into a greenhouse in sunny climates. Can't be completely shielded, if desired. Can have problems such as leaks, rattles, and mechanism failure. May explode. Also not good for people with doctors orders to minimize sun exposure. Many medications require one to stay out of the sun.

Sorry I asked

Tinting surely helps though, no?

Nailed it right there...

I have even gone as far on cars as calculating the effect on Center of Gravity shift from relocating the battery, and striping weight...

Not buying a sunroof is such an easy mod!

Now that I know how bad a sun roof is I want to get rid of my right away. So I'll tell you what ... your wife wants one real bad, and I now don't want one, so let's trade - straight up! Probably you won't want to though 'cause all I've got is "Just an '03 CR Cooper"!

The bolded part is why I don't like it.

I didn't get one on my 08 S because I can't stand having the sun beat down on my head. No regrets here

Crap, I just thought it would be sweet to have a moonroof, so I ordered one...

Oh well, hopefully with some tinting and nice days, it will be worth it

I had a Dodge Avenger's sun roof explode one +100F day. I driving away from work heard a pop as I opened it. It was easy to replace but it was a wicked weird occurrence.

What are you driving, TerryTCL? I think you need a grey 07 MCS 6-speed currently with 6k miles on it, loaded, except moonroof, rear parking assist, and rear fogs...

You can always have an aftermarket sunroof installed (find a REALLY GOOD shop to do it though), and for under $200 you can get a rear view camera to replace the rear parking assist...

Or trade it in and have about the same net cost. Price the sunroof option though, if she really likes the rest of the car.

well, i dont' think the aftermarket moonroofs are the same in fitment and blending in with the rest of the car as the panaramic.

i'll have to head over to the dealership and see what they offer for the 07

i missed having a sunroof, which is why i had one put in mine.
i don't really care if it adds 60 lbs on the top. someone will put out a better after market pull screen anyways. til the meantime, the darkest possible limo tinting will do just fine for the sunroof. too bad about chili cart's thing though...damnedest freak occurrence i'd say.
