Hi Robin81,
Where did you get your MINI from? Since you're also in the LA area, did the MA have any problems with you asking them not to drill holes because CA is so strict with the front license law. Thanks.

I got my MINI at South Bay Mini. I didn't even think about the front license plate til I took delivery on the car and my MA told me that they don't install front license plates, and they leave it up to the owner to decide what they want to do. You don't even get the plates til about a month later, so you don't need anything to be installed when you drive off the lot.

I still have pictures I have to post, but they're still on my camera... I'll post em eventually, I promise!

You might want to mention that you don't want them to drill, just to make sure they don't.

Hello everyone! I'm new here.

I was just wondering if anyone here has attached Euro/German license plate to their MC. I was thinking about purchasing one. My MC does not have any holes to mount the plate. The plate that I was considering purchasing does have a bracket. Does this help with the process?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The plate I am considering.

We have a euro mount that works with our 'NO HOLES' Kit. You can see it here http://www.gominigo.com/euro.html

You get plugs to fill the holes in the bumper and use touch-up paint to match the body color.

We sell the 'NO HOLES' License Plate Kit

Look here ----> http://www.gominigo.com/NHLPB-MINI.html

You can pickup the plugs at any Lowe's or Home Depot for less than $2. They are black, and using touchup paint works good.

Sorry, but it just looks too weird assymetrically placed like that. There has to be an option for a centered front plate mount.

To some people it looks wierd and to others they like. We have also just developed a new bracket that has a 2" offset from the center of the tow hook mount. With this feature you can move the plate 2" left or right of the tow hook.

While surfing the WWW, I ran into a centered Mini plate that attaches under the bumper. It's L shaped and had two pieces you'd screw in where no one could ever see the marks. You could probably jerry rig something using basic parts at a hardware store.

Still, I bought a MiniGo plate holder, but won't install it till the cops pull me over again.

That's AMAZING. I moved from CA where I ran front plate-less (the Miata didn't even have one from the guy I bought it from) for 3 years, parked on street. NEVER an issue.

But I've heard from several people here that you don't run your front plate (inside City of Chicago limits) that you're basically guaranteed to get a ticket. My boss has a Saturn he didn't have it on, moved to a new place without a garage parking space, parked on the street, and got a ticket for it the first night.

I've also heard they have camera vans that can drive up the street, read your license plate number as it does, then run a check to see if the plate is registered to a Chicago address and see if you purchased your City of Chicago sticker (expires at the end of the month BTW). Don't know if this one is true, but I wouldn't put it past this city.

I LOVE Chicago to death. But there certainly are some parts of it that I don't care for (the high taxes due to corruption and the rather heavy-handed enforcement and fines that come with it). On the other hand, you know not to mess with CPD. Which I also love.

I'd risk it though. Especially if I parked indoors at night. Street parking, particularly where they do foot patrol of parking permits (lincoln park/lakeview) I feel like you might be asking for a front-plate ticket.

I have a JCW sparkling sliver on the way! And dealer said this no holes bracket solution works great. I was wondering, since we have a few former officers in this thread, and my understanding is that proper speed radar use requires a hit on the front license plate, if the angle along the bumper curve, and off-set position of the plate might help reduce police radar hits, or give invalid ones that don't reflect back to the officer, etc. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Hey folks I am new to the site. I just picked up my 09 Cooper S today. I chose to not have the dealership drip my bumper. I plan on buying the gominigo kit. I think it looks very cool as well. My question is, does anyone have any coupons for the site?
