I'm really trying to come up with a name for mine. I was thinking maybe Westley or Helena (depending on gender), but it doesn't really seem like either of those fit. And then I was thinking maybe Equinox, because I got it on the first day of spring, but I don't know. I'm still not sure if it's a girl or a boy. I'm thinking it seems like a tomboy-ish girl.

I don't know why I'm having so much trouble, but I've never named a car before. Maybe I'm just not a car naming type?

Give it time; a name will happen.
I was set to call mine Phoebe before I met him. That would've been a mistake... ...considering the size of the lads bullox.
On the drive home from the dealer he let me know his name.

Some cars are more subtle; time will tell. Just be ready to listen.

well with me, I was in your same situation...i posted a thread VERY similar to this on my Clubs website(www.minicci.org) before my car had arrived, and everyone told me the same...it will come, get it time....right after i read posts from other MINI owners, the song "Mr. Blue Sky" from ELO, was on a television commercial playing in my room as I was on my thread, and given that i had a LiB MCS coming to me soon, that's what it had to be....some names come sooner than others

When I had my '02 CR/W Cooper S it's name was " CHILIBEAN ". When I was a kid there was a man at my church that always gave out chewing gum to us and he really made all the kids feel special and his name was Chilibean. Now that I have my '07 PW/B Cooper S it's name is " White Lightnin' ". I am from the mountains of Virginia and white lightnin' has a special meaning to me, also the fact that the MINI is so quick and Pepper White.

I agree with everyone who has said that your Mini will reveal his or her name to you....I had a bunch of possible names picked out but she let me know what her name should be.

Her name is Winnie...as in Winnie Cooper (from the Wonder Years). My license plate is OXFORD - I spent a summer abroad there in college (best summer of my life!) and Winnie was built there.

I named mine Sebastian, it just looks like one. The first MINI I wanted (same color scheme as my Sabby) I would have named Stella because it looked like a Stella. But my tag says MINI UTD. I am thinking about ordering a front tag that says HOTSPUR/ or Lilywhite. But those have nothing to do with his name.

We named our laser blue/white MCS Nigel. That seems to be a fairly common name, but we found out his name without checking to see if it was taken

We wanted a good british name for him (and as much as I wanted a female, he is male). We got the inspiration for the name from the XTC song,
"Making Plans for Nigel"

Were only making plans for nigel
We only want whats best for him
Were only making plans for nigel
Nigel just needs this helping hand
And if young nigel says hes happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his work
Were only making plans for nigel
He has his future in a british steel
Were only making plans for nigel
Nigels whole future is as good as sealed
And if young nigel says hes happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his work
Nigel is not outspoken
But he likes to speak
And loves to be spoken to
Nigel is happy in his work
Were only making plans for nigel

We are heading out on a road trip today. I suppose we will cue up the song to get us in the motoring frame of mind as we leave.

John.

I drove all the way to Vegas and back this weekend and still no name. I thought about Johnny for a minute, but then the moment passed. Especially because I'm 90% sure the car is a girl. I guess I'll just keep waiting.

Wanda

We named our "girl" Wanda.

We noticed that the front grill looked a little like a fish face - a grouper! One of our favorite movies is "A Fish Called Wanda" which was filmed in Britain, so..... Wanda!

No special plate, though.

This thread cracks me up...mostly because I can COMPLETELY understand and sympathize as to why it's happening!! I haven't named my latest '07 BRG, and i'm not even sure of the gender yet, but i DO have special plates on both my MCS and my 4x4 truck. One of these days I'll have to take a picture of them. The MCS is: x UHOH x and the truck is: TRUUBLE. I think it's hilarious and makes me smile every time I think about it. My husband thinks i'm nuts.

My last one was named by my soldiers, not by me...I hit a deer one night going (JUST a LITTLE) fast around some curves in Germany. It was forever known as "The Deerslayer."
