I went with the standard Cooper S interior:

I did however, pimp my ride with the JCW steering and Recaros:

I didn't even bother to get the carbon insets for the steering wheel, but instead I took the standard silver ones from the original steering wheel. Either all-carbon or no carbon I thought.

I had several people ask me about the "nice interior".
Wow, I really like your interior. I noticed that I couldn't order this on the Mini website, so where and how much did that cost?

It's amazing how much "space" was created by taking out the cupholders console. (Not that they're ever used for more than car-pockets, anyway, right? )

Another opinion..

I just ordered min last week. I went with Piano Black, cloth seats [I dont like leather and Chrome interior with Red cololine. The red just adds a touch of colot to an otherise very dark vabin. But to each his own

Oh, I agree completely! MINI vabins have always been dark...

Sorry--just couldn't resist. A sunny day without a MINI drive just makes one so...so...

Welcome to NAM and impending MINIdom! Hope you don't have to wait too long.

I'm about to get mine and I feel I made a mistake with the grey+red+chrome (regular cooper, not S).
I think the chrome doesn't fit the red+grey.
But I'll see it when I get it.

An update:
Got my cooper, the interior looks smashing.
The chrome does add a lot, although it does reflect sun light which can interfere - nothing is perfect.
The rooster red can be too much for some people who like more natural and calm environment.
I did a lot of research and went through all the galleries (thank you all for the pics & help).
I have a suggestion to make an interior thread with pics of all interiors.

Attached are some pics of the interior.

My biggest complaint about the rooster red is that it has too much orange in it. That's not a problem with other color exteriors, but I just feel (my own opinion here) that it clashes somewhat with CR.

FWIW, our Titanium Silver '01 325i Coupe was ordered with a red interior--same color, and I felt the same way about it. Hubby was happy with it, though ('til I smooshed it).

I'd recommend those semi transparent, cigarette smoke stained plastic couch covers that your grandmother used to use for the entire inside of the car. That way you will never have to worry about any upholstery damage at all. combine it with some bubble wrap for added crash protection too.

Thanks for the memory. I can still feel the plastic searing the backs of my legs as a child in the Texas summer.

The ones we had, from Fingerhut, had little raised bubbles (open backed). That made them both hot AND painful!

Hey, someone else remembers, too:
