Tire & Wheel Pkge

I'm waiting for my MCSm LB/W to arrive in April, 2008. I'll be replacing the RF's asap. I'm a Very Senior, former hard driving sports car nut, now tamed and just looking for a comfortable ride in SE Florida. This is my choice.
Wheels: Rota RB 16 x 7.0 + 35 4h x 100
Tires: Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Possition
205/55ZR16
I'm aware that my speedometer will be off about 1 mile. I can live with that. How does this sound to you, really looking for your input.

Sounds nice but I'd use Motegi Tracklites and Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. Fast-n-light...
A friend of mine really likes BFG g-Force T/A KDW NT tires and lots of people in the club swear by Kumhos and Yokos.

Happy shopping...

Actually, your MCS will probably come with an error in the speedo that can be up to 10% (reading faster than you are going). The 205/55ZR16 will just get you a little closer to reality.

I have those wheels with Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S tires for my comfort wheels. They don't grip quite as well as my Michelin Pilot Exhalto PE2, but are a lot quieter. I've not tried the RE050A.

The word on the F1 GS-D3 is that the German-made ones were great, but they are all made in China now and not as good. QA and compound are reported to be different.

Figures.

How about the Parada Spec 2?

my personal choice:

winter: MINI Crown Spoke 17" with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 205/45 VR17

summer: OZ Crono HT H2 7Jx18 ET38 with Hankook R-S2 215/35 ZR18 (single 18" rim weighs a mere 8.34 Kg or 16.7 lbs)

Mind you, I do go 150 mph a lot (on the German Autobahn) and every once in a while on a race track / the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I reckon not every MCS really needs ultra high performance tires...

I AM envious of your driving "opportunities". Lived in Germany for three years...funny, my '77 Rabbit wouldn't quite make it to 150mph
