Necessary Accessories

Hi all!

Just ordered my PW w/ black roof MCS yesterday, so needless to say I'm super excited! I was wondering what accessories you found absolutely necessary after purchase? I'm considering purchasing one of the 2" stub antennas from Alta, and also the magnetic stone guards, but I wasn't sure how useful people have found them. Thanks!

I have an 07 MCS and like the 2" antenna. I also like the seat belt holders.

The pulser unit for the third brake light. That thing sure provides piece of mind. Works like a charm.... a "get off my butt" charm.

I think the little velcroed strappy things to help lift the rear seats back up are really a great "mod!"

Naturally, my first mod was a wooden shift ****. My MA showed me how to remove the factory **** and the wooden **** was installed when I took delivery of my MCS.

Other mods I found useful:
Boot Box is good for holding grocery bags on the twisty roads of Carmel Valley.
"No Holes" License Plate Bracket (LPB) from GoMiniGo.com
GoMiniGo Third Brake Light PULSAR
STORAGE BOX CENTER CONSOLE - COOPER & S 2007+ COUPE
Prima Hydro
MINI Antenna
from Craven (short antennae are a cosmetic mod)
Rota RB wheels with non-runflat tires
Light Protection System: Clear from Outmotoring.com (vinyl protection for fog and headlights)
Deluxe LED Interior Lamp Kit (2007+ Cooper & Cooper S) from fastmini.net
Infinity Kappa speakers to replace the HIFI speakers.
The 2007 Coupe Glovebox Tidy from GoMiniGo.com
Custom Centercaps (for wheels) from Aesthetic Creations
Wheelskins Original One Color Genuine Leather Steering Wheel Cover Black

Getting the stubby antenna myself. Also, after driving mine for a week or so now I'm ordering the front and rear mud flaps to keep things from flying off the wheels so much. Not sure about the magnetic stone guards.

Considering the rubber tray holder and the glove box organizer as well.

A good set of floor mats, I ordered Coco's.

I need some of those...that would be helpful. Other than that I had a glovebox organizer and shorty antenna on both my MINIs and that was it. Never wanted for more....except for those straps.

Thanks

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'll definitely look into those pulsar units and of course the antenna. Although they may be "frou-frou" purchases they are also significantly cheaper than wheels, intake, etc., and after spending almost 30k, my checking account needs time to recover!

The Boot Box organizer in the back is fantastic for keeping groceries from slamming around. And it's dividers are adjustable with velcro. Great item.

Other than that, the only "must have" would be the fresnel lens that goes on your upper windshield to help you see the traffic lights when you are stopped at an intersection. This is a cheap and easy item that saves you from craning in your neck to see the light turn green. http://www.lightinsight.com/

I Yahooed "MINI Cooper back seat straps" and got it first time (isn't the internet amazing?). At any rate, here they are:

http://www.coopersport.com/usa/goMIN...s-p-16301.html

I was amazed that MiniMania wants 30 bucks for the exact same thing!!! They're super easy to install, too--remove head rest, slide 'em on, and replace head rest. If only all of life were that simple!

For starters, agree with the stubby antenna, back-seat straps, and Glovebox Tidy. Check my sig for more fun toys.

As for random pics, here's my Alta 4" stubby antenna.

I bought a stubby antenna from OutMotoring.com, and Mud flaps OEM (Just need to get them installed). I don't how people go without em, the mini kicks up alot of dirt! and a rubber boot tray.

Black wheels were most important to me. Non run flats are also very important.

There's a fellow who runs our Houston area BMW autocrosses. He's got a camera right above his head on his Lotus Elise. I'd love to see his videos--he's competitive.

Most of the stuff from http://www.gominigo.com/. I'm not a shill although the owners do belong to my local MINI club. I like the no holes bracket, seat straps, glove box tidy, brake light pulsar, and they have other things from time to time. Good prices and good service.

You could always loose the antenna and go with sat. radio with a low pro sat. radio antenna if you dont mind not having am/fm. I agree with loosing the runflats.

Rubber mats up front and for the rear as well....those were a must and would especially think so in colorado! Great Color Choice too!

RUN, don't walk to your nearest Clear Bra installer. In fact, you should go directly there from the dealer. You won't believe how quickly the paint gets dinged and it's really bad for a Pepper White because the dark primer shows through when the base coat is chipped.

I just got these and am so glad I did. It makes it much easier to get the seats up.

I was wondering about that, I currently have a black 01 Civic, and I neglected to put a clearbra on, and I'm paying for it now - I guess I assumed that since it would be white the clear bra wouldn't be as important - thanks for the heads up!

Yeah I'll definitely add the rubber mats to my list, you wouldn't believe how much mud gets tracked into my Civic after a snow storm! Yeah, I briefly considered the Astro Black w/ White roof until I saw it in person...and discovered it was blue.

Thanks for all your advice, keep it coming!
