I have a 07 MCS. My maintenance reminder displayed 10000 mi. 2/2008, so last month I called my Mini dealer and asked if I should bring it in for maintenance in Feb. even though I only had 3000 miles on it. Whoever I talked to in the service dept. said yes. So I called last week and made an appointment. (My dealer is 2 hours away and they told me when I bought it that they would pick it up when I needed service, leave a loaner and return it when complete.) So, true to their word, they picked it up Tuesday, 2/12. I had a few more things I wanted done also like a NC safety inspection, rotate the tires, etc. They returned it today, Friday 2/15. I noticed when I looked at the paperwork that they did not change the oil so I called. They told me that it was not due for an oil change, even though the service reminder said it was, because I only have 3300 miles on it. The car was manufactured in 12/06, inspected at the dealership in 2/07 and I bought it in 7/07. They told me that the time started from the date sold and to bring it back in July for an oil change. The way I look at it, the oil has been in my car for over a year. Are they correct or am I?

 

They should have changed it. If you will call the service manager and complain he will get it done. If not call the general manager of the dealership. They are being picky.
