R56 What don't you like about the R56 and how did you fix it?
I fixed the rough ride in sports package
Run the car in sport mode all the time now and what a difference in ride quality. Without sport mode the ride is bang bang crash using the sports seats. Suspension must adjust when steering locks down. Now this mini is a blast to drive.
glad you've gotten used to it ...
The sport mode does make a huge difference in how the mini reacts to throttle & steering input, I find the car sluggish & hard to drive/start-out (manual trans) without it in Sport mode.
My two "pet peeves" about the R56...
- Cheap wipers. Should have changed them sooner than I did, but when I did, I picked up the Reflex with WetTec at Canadian Tire... well worth the money. Only downer, the natural curve of the blade doesn't quite fit the windshield 100%, and misses the edge on the passenger side... no biggie though.
- Raining boot door. Similarly to the entry doors dripping, I find if I open the boot after the car sat outside in rain/melting snow, the water builds up behind the chrome belt line and due to the curve of the boot door, once I open it, the water pours out of the belt line at the edge of the boot door and into the boot. Solution - open the lid slowly... very slowly. Anyone else have another other ideas to fix this? (I'm concerned about sealing the edges though, in that a built up of water may cause the car to rust prematurely).
