Now that's a beautiful car. I'm not a big fan of driving lights but if you're gonna use 'em you did it right!

No, no FI on this one. It's plenty fast enough to get me jailed every time I take it out. But I did add a race exhaust with the bypass valves unplugged and filters.

I don't like to mess with F cars that much since the smallest mods make huge differences.
I lowered it, powdered the calipers yellow, blacked out all the sidemarkers and reflectors, yellow challenge hook in the front, and challenge style wheels with a 4" lip in the rear (that are currently black but will soon be grigio scuro).

but enough with hi-jacking my own thread...

That's funny because I know quite a few guys with minis and exotics in their stable. Most of them use them for DD or track cars. Even our sales guy told us the same thing --he's seen a ton of older guys pick up their mini in their exotic.

I think that tells you a lot about the MINI brand!

Nice Mini! I like that it's surely not like any other Mini on the road.

That's true. Definitely makes me glad I bought one. If it's good enough for guys with 200k to spend on a car, it's good enough for me!

BTW, what light bar is that??? It looks amazing, and I would LOVE to get one on mine. Looks WAY better than the factory rally lights IMO, and it doesn't block either of the grilles which could lead to more inefficient cooling. Very nice!

it's the R56 light brackets from Outmotoring. Great quality and a easy enough install if you've taken off your bumper before. I highly recommend!

I think I need a new profession that allows me $200,000 to spend on a play toy like a Ferrari. I'm working too hard to not have that kind of money floating around. Maybe sales or something like that, because the brain work I do obviously doesn't afford you that luxury. Hey, I know, maybe I'll sell Ferrari's, then I should have the money to buy one!

As one of the slightly older guys with a couple of exotics in the garage to complement the Mini it does say alot about the brand... the car is just fun and puts a smile on your face...

definitely. The car is a blast to drive and can't comprehend why we didn't get one earlier!

at 31, I like to consider myself one of the younger ones...

Just the opposite. A Mini as a daily driver is the perfect compliment to a non daily driver sports car. If anything, its a major compliment to the MINI that it would make a sports car driver happy. Car guys/gals, no matter what their income, love cars and the MINI is a great one no matter what the price point.

I love driving my MINI and I love driving my C2S and loved driving my 308.

PS...I am not a rich guy---I just have a bad habit (and an understanding wife) where cars are concerned and I would love to have that F430...killer car.

Nope. RRs aren't our thing.
We just sold our Cayenne Turbo because it sucked having the baby in the back of it. We replaced with a MB R-class and it's a perfect baby-mobile!
Here's a pic of it for all of you chrome haters (sans tint).

I am looking for a clean Defender 110 though...

You sure have a few good whips in the garage but I am not sure you will find the Defender anytime soon. They stopped selling them in America because it would not pass safety standards but i'll quote someone else,

"They haven't sold the Defender in the US since 1998 because the Brits don't know how to engineer the thing to meet US crash standards."

I would love to have one as well but I am a Jeep owner and I like being able to mod my toys.

yeah, I know...
I beleive there were only 500 US versions imported in the 90's. I'd like to find a clean used one.
I just got back from the Cayman Islands and they had brand new ones there! So, so sick...damn DOT.

back in '02, I almost bought a '95 D90. Cost as much as a brand new Wrangler and the Wrangler was just as capable. As much as I loved the D90, it's not a smart buy. I spent some time in Patagonia, Argentina and the regional cops (like our state police) run brand spanking new dark blue D110's.....HOT!!!

when I started college in 94', I was trying to buy a new yellow D90 too. I was way too expensive for me then, but I wanted one bad. I just couldn't justify paying $31K back then for a car that didn't come with a back seat, A/C or a top! All those things were optional and put it well in the high $30k range.
I ended up buying a 2 door Explorer Manual trans.

Those newer D110s are amazing!
