Here is a pic of my SSR at the movie theatre in the back parking lot away from everyone where no one parks due to the excessive walk to the front entrance.

When I parked here, I was ALONE in the lot, no one anywhere remotedly close and the front lot had PLENTY of spaces before and after the film.

This is what I came upon when the film was over! Pretty disrespectful.
That's actually scary to me....I would expect that the person who did that has quite a screw loose.

Perhaps. they were nowhere to be found. I just took the pics, got in my truck and left shaking my head the whole way...

Maybe they just liked your car! Long as they didn't ding it- no harm no foul.

What if it was someone who drove off already who dinged your car, and the car next to yours had nothing to do with it? Just doesn't make any sense to go on a rampage...

i take photos with the digital all day long. everytime i park, its such a hassle but i have one ding on the car and i have vowed to never let this happen again. the only thing i can tell you is i park with something on one side to protect me and as far as possible in a well lit area. i like the parking lot lamps with the big concrete bottoms. those are my friend.

Cowboy justice in Hawaii? That's absurd.

I like the tactic of having a valve stem remover and giving them four flats. After which to tape the stem parts to their windshield. No money lost, only time!

Not sure who posted that but it is a brilliant idea. Too bad I can't do stuff like that in my position because I sure would love it!

Well, if you park out in the boonies like most MINI owners (myself included), you won't have to worry about door dings.

Plus you'll get a little exercise everywhere you go!

Exactly!!! Friends HATE riding with me because I park at the other end of the parking lot to avoid careless dingers. Had my car since March and still taking the long walks. The most stressful time for me is at the airport. It usually takes me awhile to find the spot that is sufficiently isolated/protected...

the (admittedly small) extra exercise is good for you too. I need to start doing this also.

Sometimes your best efforts are all for naught. I went to my daughters basketball game and deliberately parked in the last parking space I could. To my left there was a half of a space and the rest was covered in snow high enough so I THOUGHT no one could park there. Came out and a pick-up driver must have gunned his truck to get it to fit into the space halfway up the snowbank. I was surprised his truck stayed there, didnt slide towards my car and that there was no damage to my car.

I have ALWAYS parked at the far end of the parking lot away from everyone else...and I also dont have people dinging my doors....HOWEVER, when you park at the far end of the lot, you have to worry about the people that dont put there freaking buggies in the freaking buggie returns!!!!!!!!!!!! Those carts will gain speed as they roll all the way down the lot into your car. I came out several times and found several buggies up against the side of my truck....I dont know what I will do if I find one agianst my MINI...

Is it that hard to walk your buggie to the return!?!?!?!?

(sorry pet peeve of mine lol)

I hate door dingers too. I use many strategies to avoid the dings, park on end spots...next the the lightpole area, over the line. However, I still got a ding on my RX-8 last summer. It's right on the driver's side fender.

Parking in the end spot has its own risks. You might come back to find the landscape maintenance staff right next to your car swinging weed whackers, lawn mowers and leaf blowers!

funny story - However - using that line could cost you more than the price of the ding =

Unless you actually are a police officer. In which case, impersonating one is the norm

I totally agree... nothing annoys me more than people who won't put their carts away. Just walk the stupid cart to the cart return! It's never THAT far a walk. There's been more than one time when I tried to pull into a parking space on the other side of a big car only to find that there were carts chilling in the middle of it. Of course, once I get my MINI and start parking away from everyone, I shouldn't have that particular problem anymore.

But the stupid carts everywhere will still annoy me.
