Help needed: vinyl graphics, driving lamps

Two R56 questions:

1) I just purchased vinyl stripe graphics from Mighty Stripes (offset racing) and tried to have them installed at a pro shop. They told me because it's raining, that i need to wait until it's dry outside. I live in NYC and am wondering: is it even advisable to install these in the wintertime?

2) I want driving lamps and don;t want to spend the $800 MoM is charging. I can find plenty of aftermarket options for '02-'06 MCS models, but nothing reliable for an '07 MCS. The PIAA website only has mounts for the '02-'06 models. My concern is that the black mesh-style grills on my R56 won't accept mounts for anything aftermarket.

Help!

Yes, it is. Drive it very infrequently... 6,000 miles year tops.

Help!
Well it may be different for your stripes, but I had vinyl boot stripes from Aesthetic Creations put on mine just a few weeks ago, and I'm in the NE (PA) as well. The only instructions they gave me were to not run in it through an automatic car wash for 2-3 weeks. After that they said the adhesive 'bonds with the paint' so I can treat it just as I do the rest of the car. If you get conflicting opinions from different installers, I'd recommend checking directly with Mighty Stripes.

Hope that helps and best of luck!

Vinyl and lights

Hope this helps...We have massive stripes we apply (30"wide) which are printed and laminated. Modern Image in Huntington Beach, Ca, prints our stickers and stripes and does alot of the installations. They always do the installs inside, but following their install, the car can be washed imediately, so I dont understand the rain thing. Maybe the New York shuffle??? I would find another installer.

As far as I know, no-one has their light bar kit out yet. Ours is still at our fabricator. There was a huge mounting problem, with regard to how the bar is attached to the frame, and the smaller lower front dam. Ours , unlike the others, will still be concealed inside the lower dam. We will again use the Hella 500 series, as the lenses are not glass, but a poly-carb combe and simply wont break. Lots of our customers do use the PIA lights, they look great, but they all break lenses constantly. Just depends on your pain threashold.
Hope this helps, get another installer for the stripes.
