Weird shaking in neutral

Hi Guys,
I wasn't very sure where to post this but I really need some opinions and suggestions. I have my mini for about 3 months now and I drove about 3800miles. When I am in neutral some times(not too often) the whole car shakes. Is it a diagnostic of a potential problem? I am really worried. And when I am in neutral it makes a small/faint clicking noise from the boot. When I press the clutch the noise is gone when I release the clutch it comes back again. I am planning a trip to my dealer but wanted to know more from any of you guys had similar issues

Sounds like just a rough idle that the engine mounts arent absorbing enough of.

I have a porsche 914 with semi-solid engine & tranny mounts; want to talk about a car shaking in neutral....

I'd bring it to the dealer... the car shouldn't shake that much...
I agree with Purplefenderman.... something's causing a rough idle.

I had the same *exact* problem, it would be kind of ticking or knocking with the clutch out, but stops once you clutch in, getting a new flywheel and throwout bearing next week. Bring it in for service. Also try shifting gears very slowly I bet you that if you shift into second very very slowly while driving (car in motion not just idling) with the clutch all the way in, it will grind, might have to move it back and forth into gear a couple of times.

I hear the flywheel in nuetral. It sounds like your description. I had a lightened flywheel and clutch in my G35, and that was really loud. It sorta had a cement mixer sound.

Between that car and my dry-clutch Ducati, I hardly notice the MINI...
