If Mini would do something and allow BMW dealers to do routine servicing of Mini's that problem would go away. We have a BMW dealer 5 miles away.
This was the subject of another thread, along with a direct petition to MINI. Their response? Nope, not gonna do it. Need to keep the MINI line separate.

Fools.

This was actually one reason I bought a used Mini, as I can pay someone closer to do the work I can't perform while if I was under warranty I would have one of the worst 49 mile drive in Michigan (trust me, there is no "fun" route between Ann Arbor and Shelby Township).

Of course the BMW dealership is < 5 miles away, once I need work I will have to quote it both places (as well as the local Euro shop) and decide what my time is worth!

I was washing my wife's suv, so she took the mini. When she got back, she said, "You know, your car goes airborn of the speed humps."

90 miles! Oh if only it were that close to our nearest dealer. We're 231 mi from them! Ah well, these little cars are sooooooo worth the trip.

My partner was dead set on getting himself a Smart Fortwo later this year. A week of driving around with me and my MINI and look what shows up a month later.

That would be the last time my wife drove my car.
