R56 95MPH governor?

It's only tangentially speed related. In fact the "governor" is based on revs per minute of the engine. If you were in a lower gear the engine would begin to cut out at approximately the red line on the tach. So 139MPH is probably red line or close to it in sixth gear.

At least this is the case in the R53 and with all the performance claims made by MINI, logic would serve the R56 would be capable of far more than an additional 5mph.
i am shocked none of the geeser puds didnt come in here and complain about people speeding and how you are endangering lives and what not. Funny...... i guess if you are racing yourself its no big deal, but add another car into the equation and all the puds have a problem with it......
