I have the regular headliner and it looks great with my interior. My car is Dark Silver with Black roof and mirrors. I didn't get the arm rest and i don't even miss it. I drive a stick so my hand is constantly on the gear ****.

The only reason I want DSC is because it practically saved my life in another car. I was driving and this person cut me off, and very nearly hit me, I would have swirved and crashed, but the DSC straightned out the car beuatifully. Now that I think about it it was ESC, well it's almost the same thing. I love DSC, it saves lives

Good choice, do not skip it. It is useful when you least expect it.

My Mini has cruise control and the Mini sliding armrest.

A couple of comments on the cruise and armrest:
Cruise control has been used 1 time in 6 months. Unless you drive over 80% highway, you could probably get away without cruise control, but doesn't it come with the packages anyways?

I don't use the armrest when driving, but I do use the armrest when the car is parked. And I find that I almost always drive with 2 hands on the steering wheel unless I'm shifting.

The armrest isn't flimsy, but the armrest cover always slides open and I have to close it at least once a drive.

BTW, the other half wants to put her 2 cents in, "I use the armrest ALLL the time!"

I wouldn't do without the cruise. For 250 bucks for the mfsw, even if you use it infrequently, its worth it. You also get the radio controls in the wheel.

If you MINI has a manual tranny, you'll also enjoy the "hill assist" feature that comes w/ DSC.

I actually just got my Cooper on 11/24 - i had a budget of $25000 including tax and license, but when I got to my dealer, Universal City MINI in Los Angeles, I found a car that had all the options I needed and saved me some money.

My car is
Cooper - Chili Red/White Roof/Mirrors
Premium Pkg
Sport Seats w/ Checkered Black Cloth

I also added the center armrest ($795 installed) nitrogen filled tyres ($295 - i know I got hosed, but they were already on the car!) and I'm thinking about adding the bluetooth phone prep for my Blackberry Pearl.

My final sales price was $21,540 - $23,360 including taxes, title, etc.

I am very happy with the options that were on the car, and glad I didn't have to try to be patient and wait for a car on order. Most of all, I'm glad I'm rid of my 2006 VW Jetta Value Package - which was the worst car I ever drove!!

Good luck, and enjoy!!

Agreed.

I once was surprised by an unexpected and odd puddle on the highway which had my left tires on solid pavement and my right tires in 2-3 inches of water for about 100 yards at my typical interstate cruising speed. The MINI drove perfectly straight through it although I could feel the car doing stuff on its own to keep in control.

A fantastic safety feature for those times when we are relaxing and not driving at 100% alertness for 100% performance.

In FL, lol. No hills to be seen. But who knows where a MINI could take me

78% of the atmosphere is nitrogen. We all have nitrogen filled tires.

I would have DEMANDED that $300 upcharge come off the price of the car, or walked. I just wouldn't like doing business with someone that shady.

Okay I would like to thank you all for your wonderful help. I think I have a final configuration:

2008 MINI Cooper
Oxygen Blue
White Roof/Mirrors
Manual
DSC
Spoiler
Front Fog Lamps
Rear Fog Lamp
Xenon Lights
Sport Seats
Sunroof
Cloth: Checkered Black
MFSW
Checkered Sunroof Graphic
Checkered Dash
Checkered Rear View Mirror
Let's Motor Frame

MSRP: $22,293 +taxes, title, etc

Well for now at least that's the primary configuration, but you all know half the fun is designing and planning!!

I like it!! The checkers will be unique and go well with OB as it is such a fun and cool color. When you order be sure to join the Oxygen Blue Owner's Club!!!

I TOTALLY agree with you - but $300 was a small price to pay to go home with my baby...

I guess Universal doesn't do a traditional markup. They just put a bunch of equipment on the car before they put them on the lot - I was lucky to find one that didn't have the alarm system ($895?!)... I live in and work in gated communities!!

+1
Personally, I would have deflated the tires and said, "They're not nitrogen filled anymore."

Good luck with the purchase, MINIgirly!

Sounds like a great MINI! I hope it works out and you get what you want.

When I got mine a little over a year ago, I paid around $26k out the door, and Clara is as loaded as a base Cooper can be, with the exception of HK and leather. And she's automatic. So while I know prices have gone up with the 07s a little bit, you can DEFINITELY get a nice Cooper for under $24k.

Sad news
My dad called the dealer to see of the MINI (myMINI) was still there and I think I heard him say they sold it, he wasn't speaking to me, to the receptionist. I don't get it he told them he would get back to them by Tues. and they sold it on Mon. Couldn't they at least have called him?? But anyway, let's hope my ears were playing tricks on me, because while I don't mind creating my MINI all by myself, the 4.9% interest rate and the cheaper insurance (19 years old --very important) were very strong selling points. Maybe Santa will grant a Christmas wish

Sorry to read that they sold that MINI that you were interested in. I had never ordered a car before the one I expect to take delivery on later this week (I hope!). I am really looking forward to getting a car that has EVERYTHING I want exactly the way I want it, and not some car off the lot that had "enough" of what I wanted. Good luck on the Christmas wish!

Congrats on your future car!! My dad told me this morning the person he spoke to told him she wasnt sure if it sold or not. I do recall another blue one with bonnet stripes!! In any case he was playing with the configurator this morning with a Cooper, which means he was thinking of me. If he wasn't he would be configuring a Clubman . I really need to find an additional job!
