Laser Blue. The metallic tint really jumps out and catches the eye, even more so than MY which is a flat tint. Both white and black roof look good with laser blue, but the white is far more practical for avoiding cabin heating in summer.

I was torn between the two, and MY/B got the nod. For me the Mini is all about character, and that color combo just punches the character ratio up a notch. Still, I think LB looks stunning with the white roof. Love them both, wish I could have one of each.

BTW, I was un-aware of Liquid Yellow when I ordered, and said 'yuck' the first time I saw it. It gave me a start, thinking, 'omg, is that what I chose?'. I had seen MY at the dealer, and here on the MY thread, but for a second there ...

Personally, I would go for the blue....with black roof. Although, my dad has a MY/B MCS and I love it....looks like a bumble bee with the stripe pattern he has. We also have one in the club named $hortbus...lol Ultimately though, it's up to you....

Hard one as I actually considered both when shopping for my MINI... Personally I'd go for Mellow Yellow simply because they're both absolutely gorgeous colors and the MY will save you 450 bucks! Plus, in my area at least, it's a lot more unique. Basically you can't go wrong - best of luck.

I have the white stripes and white rims on top of that, and I've never for a blink thought I made a wrong choice. For me, the MY was too bright. Of course, there is no wrong choice.

Smurfy? Bring it on

I love both colors, too!

I really like the MY because it reminds me of my '72 Fiat 128 Wagon which was sort of a taxi-cab yellow! The MY/B is a really fun color combo and looks so cheerful in every season, but especially in the darker months of fall/winter.

The LB is gorgeous....and very tough with the black roof. Let us know what you decide. What fun to spec a new MINI!

I like the last two posts. "Get both" is an awesome answer. And MY = cheerful vs. LB = gorgeous sounds spot on.

What do other LY/MY owners say about having a yellow vehicle out and about on a daily basis? My (conservative) father said that he saw one of the newer yellow MINIs while shopping last weekend and "it's really yellow." I don't know if dear old Dad saw a LY (which is my guess) or MY MINI, but I could tell he didn't approve. Of course, I remember his own (very) yellow 1972 Vega sitting in our driveway and all the mechanical troubles he had with it. I'm thinking he's associating his own experiences with his one-and-only yellow car in his life with my upcoming MINI. And I know it doesn't help that his wife wants the exact same color combination for her own MINI (which I didn't know before I placed my order -- I didn't even know she lusted after a MINI!).

So, a yellow daily driver results in what sort of daily experiences from those of you motoring in one?

These are the two color choice's I was stuck on for a while. Almost changed my order. My last car was red, it was a lot of work to keep it looking good. The Mellow Yellow shows almost no dirt. I really like it.

Re: LY, my daughter has this color on her convertible and it looks great. If it had been available I would have ordered it on mine.

I love the color because it reminds me of...daffodils.

I know the pic is crappy, but look at the depth of that color. It looks so good. We decided on LB/W because of the class it has. Our other cars are black and white and this one says something completely different.

^^Very nice! I'm especially digging the stripes. Definitely one of the best looking MINIs I've seen.

LB/LB + sport stripes... Make sure that you see the LB in person ... it's even nicer than the pics can portray, and very different from the configuration page at MINI. The blues reflect the ambient colors of the moment. Just stunning.

Halifax - Go to a sign shop in your area immediately. You have to get those stripes extended onto your bumpers!!!

I am sorry that some many misguided--perhaps color blind--people have responded to your question. Mellow yellow--a truly lovely color for a Mini--and white top and mirrors is the hot ticket. It looks smashing, and with regard to smashing, the brightness of the yellow improves your small car's visibility, a valuable thing for those of us who ride about in small targets.

But, please be good to yourself, and to all those who will look at your Mini; order it with mellow yellow and white roof and mirrors. Doing so will make you a better person, and it will make your Mini a better Mini.

In great concern (for ordering a bad color),
Joe S.

Graphicjoe - I am afraid that you are not allowed to give the definitive answer on this... All must listen to Giantjoe, for I crush all those that oppose me!! [Picture that avatar without the thumb up nor the smile]

Oh yeah, he already bought the MY/B...
