2nd Gen Cooper performance

Does anyone have an idea about performance parts for the new cooper. Are there any plans in the after-market industry to make a cold air intake or a chip for the 07 Cooper? Where can I find info? Does anyone plan on making anything soon? I've looked and nothing! When I bought my 2003 Cooper S, there was a large product range established pretty much before I bought the car.

Are you talking about the non-S cooper? There's already a lot of parts available for the 07+ S.

Is this thread for real?

There are TONS of parts available right now, and more being released on an almost weekly basis.

As for the non-S R56 cooper, there are a few supposedly available, but I haven't seen any posts regarding actual installs or results. I'm thinking of installing the K&N air induction.

Yea, I'm pretty sure he's talking about the non-S 2nd gen Cooper for which there aren't many parts available that I've seen.

It would be nice to see a few more options for the standard r56 Cooper. Anyone heard anything about a chip or computer upgrade? I hope one is in the works.....if it has not already been made.

You've got to be kidding me. Why buy a standard Cooper and add $3000 to add power that isn't going to be even close to stock MCS?

Why spend 3000? I wouldn't dream of putting that kind of money into a standard Cooper. I'm talking about an air intake, ECU upgrade....Shark injector and maybe a short shift. We are not talking much money. I had a Cooper S with all the pulley bits and etc.. Enjoyed the car! I was impressed with the new Cooper ride and added power and just looking for a few upgrades.

I thought ECU was cheap until I found out they are around $700.
