I took it to Discount Tire to see if they could repair it. After about 10 minutes waiting, they came out and said it was too close to the sidewall to repair, but because it only had 1500 miles on it, Goodyear was going to replace it for free. They had to order it in because it was such a new model of tire (took about 3 days) and when it arrived, they installed it including balancing at no charge to me.

I don't know what the pro-rate schedule is from Goodyear, and maybe the dealer's warranty makes sense once the tires get older, but $750 for a warranty on something that's already at least partially covered by the tire maker, seems like kind of a ripoff to me.

Well we live and learn. I am out about $400 because of two flats in the first 600 miles. I wish I had known the manufacturer would have paid for at least one of them which was not repairable.
