Schedule for Production?

How long does it take to get scheduled for production after the order from the dealer? Is it consistent?
Since it is nearing the end of the year...has production for the 07 increased or decreased or are they mixed with the 08s.

It all depends on the allocation of production slots your dealer has available. For example I've read of NAMers receiving a production number before even leaving the dealership, while other have written of their MINI taking weeks to start production. I ordered mine on a Saturday and it began production Monday (I'm right outside Philadelphia). Your MA should be able to answer that question without a problem. As far as the last part of your question, your guess is as good as mine.

This is what I have

I called ask mini and they say I have been scheduled for production but with no date.

How do you schedule something with no date?

Sometimes it can take a couple days for them to post a date. Keep calling into automated ASK MINI and you should get news soon enough. Also check in with your MA - he or she should have up to the day info on your MINI, while other means can be quite a bit delayed.

I was in the same position the last couple of weeks. I checked as soon as I received the production number (which was two days after I placed my order) and the OL and automated system at ASK-MINI kept saying that it was scheduled for production with no confirmed date. I then talked with a live rep and was told that it would probably go into production sometime between week 43 (this week) and week 45. Then BAM, two days later, I called and it was in production (week 43).

+2 . Your answer is 100% correct. Mine took over a month to start (it was a total of 12 weeks from the day I ordered until the day I took delivery), it all depends on any waiting lists and how many build slots the dealer has available. The MA is the best source of info until it actually starts production, then it is ASKMINI, and once it gets built, your MA is then the best source of info.

Depending on the shipping company and the ship it gets loaded onto there are possible methods to track it or at least get an occasional info as it comes across the pond.

Called and they said..

Called and they said should be on next weeks schedule. I was told week 45 but I don't think next week is week 45?

After it gets out of production how long is the trip across the pond to houston?

Next week is week 44.

It can be a little confusing and frustrating before you actually enter production. Keep checking in with the folks at 1-866-ASK-MINI for updates... talk to a live person (follow the voice prompts) and they will have the most accurate and detailed info. They are used to people like us calling daily wondering where our babies are.

I have ordered two Mini's one on 8/31 and one on 10/3 both were Completed within 9 days of the order - each time I was given the Production number when I placed my order and the Mini was starated construction within a day or two. The one on 8/31 arrived in CA on 10/8 and the one from 10/3 will be in Ca on 11/5.

I guess they didn't want to wait until the paint dried on your 10/3 car

That is fast. Mine hasn't started construction yet and I ordered 10/19.

I ordered 10/17 and I'm still waiting to get a date.

Drum fingers on keyboard, repeat, repeat repeat.

I wonder if the Clubman has got them slowed down or something?

Well stay active here on the discussion so that we can compare since we ordered during the same period.

Wow, bms50- my MA had e-mailed mine to me later that day. If I were you, I'd call my MA and ask about a production #. That way you can at least set up an Owner's Lounge account, so you can keep being driven mad as you check and re-check only to see, "On Order" time and time again.

Yes, I'll stay active and let you know if ( If ? ... Better be WHEN) I get a date. We probably DO need to start a "week ?? support group" thread. What week do we qualify for, or is there already a thread for our week?

Since I have started this quest in Aug - I have learned this trick when making your deal with your MA - ask him before you buy - what production number and dates do you have for me????????????? He can put you where ever he wants on 'his' list / or like buyers found out from Mt View Mini - he didn't even have any left for 07 and was making people wait until he got his production numbers for 08 - I have had two fourm members here have that problem and went to EB Mini - actually, one just called on the phone, place his order that day and got his production number - his Mini also was done with a week/10 days from placing his order... go over to 1st gear forum - check the posts, you will find him...

I got an email not that long ago with my production number.

Now to the Owners Lounge, and more waiting.

When is it going to end.

Well I just called the "ASK-MINI" number and I actually talked to someone. He said they would have more recent status than the automated system.
He told me my build would start in week 45. That stinks.
He said that starts in Mid November. So my car design will sit on paper for a few weeks.

I suggest you guys call the number to give you a start week. At least I know now. I ordered October 19th.

Ordered mine (DS MCS) from Brecht on September 30, finally got my production number two weeks later. When I called 1800 ASKMINI two weeks ago I was told that week 44 was going to be last week and that a mid-November "at the dealer date" was realistic. This morning they (1800 ASKMINI) tell me it's (week 44 production) next week. So it's looking like I'm looking at late December early Jan for my DS MCS. I'll be flogging the 0le DL or the M Coupe till then I guess!

Shigataganai. . .

Just heard back from my MA that he anticipates my MINI here late Nov-early Dec, unless the ship sinks! I am pessimisticly planning for right before Christmas- I REEEEAAAAALY want it here by then. Must make the cousins and siblings jealous when I pull in the driveway, of course!!! Hey, turnabout is fair play...

I ordered my new MCS on Saturday October 20th, got my production number on Monday. I just called ASKMINI after reading this thread and was told mine was set for production week 45 which she said starts on Novemebr 5th. Gonna be a loooong slow wait.

Isn't week 45 November 11-17th unless Europe is different in week numbers.

Best place to do this tracking and watchin is over on the "1st Gear" forum... each week has its own post for support and tracking... you can go backwards and look at other weeks and exacty when they started and finished... It will give you a very good education on how this "week count" goes... you can't just pull out a calander and start counting - math does not always work ....
