C6Z06 to R56...my story

Just wrote a huge intro in the 1st gear section.

Considering I'm going to be all over this part of the forum like a 14 year old on his first girlfriend I figured I'd post the link here.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=117413

I know that after getting my car I'm not going back to the 1st gear section anytime soon so why would you....

....but do it just one last time, for me.

Welcome! Interesting story. It's remarkable the number of drivers who trade "down" from Porsche, Corvette, BMW etc. to the MINI.

I've had mine for about two months, and I still grin like a monkey every time I drive it!

yup. Went from e46 M3 coupe to MCS. Didnt really want to, but in the end I am real happy with the MCS. It's a lot of fun.

It is hard to forget about the blazing acceleration and high speed stability (long wheel base) of the M3 tho.

I've kept the my NIC as I've been under this name on a number of boards for at least 8 years.

Sorry you had to part with the Z. I still have mine and will not part with it. I love my 07 MCS, and use it as an everyday driver. But as you know, there is no replacement for displacement!!!

Welcome! Being that the Z06 exploits happened in the past, I hope it wouldn't be a problem that he referenced them. He's just letting us know where he's coming from. But, any "above speed limit references" or "contests of speed" that aren't on a track are looked at more harshly here compared to other forums, and are strictly prohibited from what I understand.

I've still got my LSx car (Heads and cammed LS1 in a Firehawk Convertible), and enjoy the hell outta my Mini on a regular basis. I catch some ribbing from my muscle-car friends, but it's good natured. They've since experienced the Mini firsthand, and that turned some doubters into believers when it comes to understanding what driving a Mini is all about.

So, have fun with the Mini experience.

Totally understand about the racing and speeding. My days of that came to an end the night I got engaged. Just have a different outlook on life now and it's not worth the risk. And they're especially gone now that I'm down about 400hp.
