Why so few AB owners here? I thought it would have been a very popular color! More pics in my gallery too.

 

Since I started reading this thread, all the cars I see on the road are black and I wonder to myself, "How do they keep them clean? Do they worry about swirls in their paint? Do they do their own detailing or do they take it to a car wash?" Then I remember their all Acuras and Explorers and that the owners probably don't care!

 

Just ordered an astro black 09 MCS (I currently have an 03 velvet red) Dealer told me they wont be making them astro black after 09. Anyone know if this is true?

 

I was under the impression that Astro was gone for '09 but Jet Black was back. You sure?

 

That would suck! My 09 is going to be my first mini (when it gets here) and I really would have preferred the Jet black. Maybe I will just have to sell the 09 in a year and get a '10 model in JB...I probably won't be able to part with it though.

BTW, I only think the white roof looks good with white bonnet stripes, I like the blacked out version better.

 

Astro black for 09's will be produced till November according to my MA, then it is the new black that will be made. It is a plain black with metallic, but not non-metallic Jet Black. I believe it is going to be called Cosmo Black, or something like that. Cannot remember the name anymore So there will be a few 09 Astro Black's MC, MCS and JCW's around, just not alot.

Anyone know where I can get matte black stripes? I think it would look cool against the gloss black. If there's a pic floating around I would love to see it.

 

My MA told me exactly what you said about it being a sort of metallic true black except that it was actually going to be named "Midnight Black". If you go to the miniusa configuration on their website i believe they name it Midnight Black as well, but i like the name "cosmo" so let us astro black owners call it just that!

 

I was thinking a matte black but I dont know if you would really be able to tell it's there and may seem akward with a dark blue offset with pure black stripes.

I plan to go dark silver bonnet strips like a few others on this forum for a more classy/stealth look...
